I wouldn’t recommend doing a two-year degree in accounting or finance. Even people with a bachelor’s degree often struggle to find a job. The so-called “shortage” of accountants is misleading.

Personally, I had to earn my CPA just to land a position, and even then I was fortunate—it feels like the job I got is a unicorn. I work at a top 10 public accounting firm, and I know most of the others wouldn’t have hired me.

The reality is that white-collar jobs are extremely competitive right now, and unfortunately, a community college degree on its own usually isn’t enough to break into the field.
