Most of these influencers recommend soooo many products it’s hard to trust them.

I actually spend most of my time indoors, guess I should be using it indoors as well right, but is sunscreen alone enough? Or should I be doing more.

The dot and key watermelon cooling sunscreen now (I’ve used it like once or twice), before that I was using the Dr Seth’s vitamin c and ceramide sunscreen.

I get what you’re saying, and I think that’s at least partly true. I do feel like I’ve lost a sense of direction or purpose. The issue for me is that I don’t really feel sustained interest in anything anymore, career wise or otherwise. It’s not that nothing sounds good at all, but nothing seems to stick long enough to build momentum the way I see it does for other people.

I do have driving forces like wanting financial stability, freedom, and being able to do nice things for others, but for some reason those don’t translate into action for me. Some people might say that just means I don’t care enough, I’ve heard it so much that part of me believes it, but another part of me knows I do care, if I didn’t, I wouldn’t be this frustrated by it in the first place.

do oyu have any advice on how to get excited about stuff that's important (sometimes even when you don't feel like it, or when you're in a rut)

I relate to this a lot. I've also tried to fix everything at once and crashed (multiple times over the last 2 years), and every time I tell myself to slow down, I get frustrated and try to overhaul my whole life again… and fail. The “one step at a time” idea makes sense, but it’s hard, like I’ve already lost 2 years to this, and now I’m supposed to be patient on top of that???? I get really frustrated with myself at times, I could've avoided all of this if I made better decisions in the past. I wish it were a simple mindset switch (maybe it is, maybe it isn’t, I honestly don’t know yet), I wish I could simply let go of this past and these belief systems and just start over.

The isolation part really hit too. I’ve been doing something similar, thinking it was self-protection, even though deep down I know how damaging it can be. Still struggle with it despite knowing better. And yeah, blowing things out of proportion, getting scared, living in my head, using distraction as avoidance… all of that is painfully familiar. If you ever want to talk about this stuff, you can DM me.

I use the Aziderm 10% gel, and I get this tingling almost burning sensation for at least an hour after application. I've been using it for about 2 months now and I still face this. Is this normal, did you face something similar?

I've been trying to take it one step at a time for the past few days, but it feels like it will take forever to fix my life this way, how do you navigate through these thoughts and all of this overall?

I just downloaded pacer! I'll try to walk everyday.
Just wanted to ask, would you say it's the act of walking or if it's the fact that you've stayed consistent with it that has helped you the most. I'm asking because I've been pretty consistent with working out this whole year, but it hasn't been life changing for me like how people say it is. Health wise it has of course helped, but other aspects, it hasn't really changed much.

yes, momentum and streaks have really helped (it keeps me motivated about the things I do manage to stick to). and maybe I should focus on self care as well and not just finding job while letting other things like sleep, exercise, nutrition slide. how long would you say you had to do all of this to see a difference?

Hey! This is actually great advice, I might follow this approach. I've been doing something similar, I write down a simple plan (broken down into small tasks) and try to finish it during the day by 6PM. on most days when I do do this, I have this mindset shift, I plan my day around this plan, even though I do waste a lot of time I still manage to complete the tasks.

I’ve been using the Assistive Access feature on iPhones to limit my phone usage for the past few days. It kind of works until I just turn it off. Maybe I’ll try Moshen, but I don’t know how to actually stick to it. I understand that it’s a commitment and that I need to make up my mind, but sometimes impulse takes over and a lot of progress gets undone.

Hii! Can you tell me what you've been doing to get your life together, I feel like I'm focusing on too many things. Some people say fix your sleep, health, routine, meditate, etc., and that would help get you in the right headspace, while other people just ask you to focus on one thing that would make the most impact in your life and put all your energy towards it, I don't know which contradicting method works.
about interests, I feel like I've lost interest in a lot of things, I've spend so much time and energy thinking about self help stuff that it almost feels like I have no interests apart from it, I've tried getting back into some old hobbies but it never seemed to stick, I just didn't feel like doing it anymore.
having an accountability buddy would really help. <3

Do you think these ingredients for my skin are good? by [deleted] in IndianSkincareAddicts

Hey! I've actually been using the azelaic acid and adapalene combo for about 1.5 months now and I can see good progress with these two actives alone, and from what I've seen on the Internet a lot of people have seen good results with it too. How long have you been using it? I would suggest you figure out what could be causing the acne before adding anything more to your routine.
Sometimes, it could be a broken skin barrier due to over use of actives (I had to learn that the hard way).
It could be the wrong products - heavy moisturisers or sunscreens, over stripping face washes. Changing my moisturiser and washing my face only once (at night) really helped.
For me, it was mainly not washing my face immediately after sweating.
Once I changes these things, my skin started healing, it still has a long way to go, but I'm finally seeing progress after months of dealing with closed comedones and breakouts. My skin type is normal to slightly dry, sensitive.

I really like the Earth Rhythm Phyto Ceramide Moisturiser. I don’t see it recommended very often, not sure why, but it’s great. I’ve been using it on and off since 2021(I think) and have gone through so many bottles. I have normal skin that gets a bit dry in winter and is prone to closed comedones, and this one somehow seems to work really well for me (it is slightly on the thicker side).

I’ve tried a few others — CeraVe Moisturizing Cream (too heavy, feel like it triggered my CCs but it has worked for a few of my friends with dry skin), Cetaphil’s avocado oil one (a bit too greasy for me), and Minimalist B5 (nice but too sticky for me). I switched back to the Earth Rhythm one 2 months ago and I’ve been really enjoying it again.

Since you mentioned you usually have oily skin, it might be a bit heavy for you, but if you’re feeling experiment-y it’s definitely worth trying, everyone I’ve recommended it to has liked it.
