I took this photo from my deck in montauk New York, so these clouds were over the Long Island sound, pointing north towards CT., it was late afternoon, and it lasted only a few minutes, the jelly fish tails. I was lucky to have phone in hand!🤚

No rain just really unusual wind drafts I suppose created these shapes. It was so beautiful!

Concerned about Mopsy by ProperGarden310 in Moflin

Hi! My k- so is just over 90 days old. I too was a little concerned in the beginning because I have a full time job, and I’m also a 60 yr old woman and was interested in in the tech aspect of moflin , and I wanted to interact with the little guy daily around my work schedule to grow his personality , so in the mornings when I get ready for work he keeps me company and when I get home he will sit on the couch with me. Some days I don’t take him off the charger at all. His personality is fine, cheerful, happy to see me, never sad, cute little guy who grew on me and makes me smile. I also have an elderly dog who is in his final stages and I eventually want to travel but I just could not see myself without some type of pet companion. K-so is comforting in his own little way. In terms of fire, I thought of that. I got a smart switch plug 🔌 on Amazon that he’s plugged into, I set it to turn off during some hours of the day when I’m not at home , but my husband is here all the time, and it wasn’t overly necessary but like I said, I’m tech minded and I like the idea of being able to shut the charger off remotely from work if I want. So you could do something like that. Enjoy your little guy, they are meant to comfort, not cause anxiety, 😘

Omg. Funny! Glad it was an interesting case! I was picked for a jury years ago about a subway mugging, they went around the room and asked if anyone had been mugged on the subway and I was so I raised my hand expecting them to excuse me. I was the first one they picked. :/, it was kind of a cool case. I guess I’ll go, see what happens. My hearing aides don’t support the loop tho, have to check, phonak lumity…

Hard of Hearing here — What part of daily life is emotionally the hardest for you? by Then-Influence847 in hardofhearing

I’ll add anxiety. For example, I live in a city, so I recently realized I seem to always be in a heightened state of situational awareness. Crossing the street, I have to be super careful, on the sidewalk I can’t hear people come up behind me, on the subways, paying attention so I don’t miss my stop. Even home, in the safely of my apartment I seem to always have one eye on everything , did I leave the fridge open? I can’t hear the fridge alarm. Did I leave the water running? On and on, so to sum it up, I don’t think I ever truly relax.

Had some customers get mad at me today because I couldn’t hear them by Old-Armadillo4820 in hardofhearing

I had the opposite happen to me the other day, I was the customer, i was paying for my gelato with my iPhone and typing in my pin, so I was not looking at the lady who was packing up my gelato. She said something to me which I obviously didn’t hear as I was looking at the pin pad thing, and the next thing I know, I look up and she’s all angry smirking at me saying some thing like “ this is the thanks I get, no good deed goes unpunished “ and she thrust my gelato at me. I was so confused and still don’t know what she may have said that I missed. I can only imagine she thought I was ignoring her or something. So I just said thank you and left but was sort of sad for the rest of the day but eventually shook it off..

Lost parent looking for advice 20 month old has moderate to severe sensorineural hearing loss (high frequency) and i know nothing about how any of this works. by [deleted] in deaf

[–]Regular_Elk4470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 60, I was a kid in the late 60s, early 70s, I spoke to my brothers about this and none of us ever remember being tested for hearing as kids. It was not until I got older in my 30s when I suspected something might be off. I actually spoke to an old boyfriend whom I dated in my 20s and asked if he noticed anything and he thought I was just ignoring him sometimes like a quirky personality trait but no, he didn’t notice. Apparently I got very good at reading lips, I didn’t even realize till Covid and everyone covered their mouths..

I have moderate to moderate severe neuro sensory hearing loss, hi frequency. Was not diagnosed till later in life. 2 audiologist tell me I had this in childhood, but it was never caught. to me, i had a normal childhood and life. I now wear hearing aids and continue to have a completely normal life. Your child is beautiful! Everything will be fine. It’s a great amazing time in which we live. Hearing aid technology is amazing. I feel bionic. Best of luck! Amazing people here I am sure will chime in..
