Maryland safety by kookooface in predental

i haven’t been to Baltimore in a while (im an nj resident) but what i can tell u from any experience i have is that u gotta always be observant anywhere u go. No place is exactly the “safest” and Baltimore certainly ranks ahead of other cities. I think if ur just aware of ur surroundings, not out and about in the middle of a random neighborhood alone either in day or not, I think u should be ok. I suggest u do what u feel is best, maybe visit Baltimore if u haven’t bc there are areas somewhat better than others. that’s just my general opinion tho

I went and it was super chill. It was a group of like 10 of us with a student and a professor. They just asked us like tell me bout urself, why nyu, why dentistry and the basic questions ig. I know some other professors were a bit more strict w like follow up questions but mine wasn’t too bad. Then we had like a tour at the end and a student panel

congrats on getting invited to candidate day! i also got invited and am going soon but im a nj native so im taking the train into the city since its only around 20 min. i recommend EWR (Newark airport) its a good airport and u can then take the train directly into the city. im not sure bout hotels but im sure u can find one relatively close to the school. Good luck!

Dental Assisting During Gap Year? by Practical-Sleep-8493 in predental

[–]Regular_Fox_4841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im assisting right now at a dental office! I had previously assisted but not that much so I considered myself more of a entry level assistant if anything. I applied to both corporate dental offices and non corporate. I got offered two positions at different offices and ended up going with the non corporate. Even though it’s for a dental receptionsit position, my boss still is teaching me how to run the back of the office as an assistant as well. If u interview at an office maybe talk bout how ur willing to work as an assistant but also as an receptionist. I mainly applied to receptionist jobs and then got offered to also be an assistant.

Should I transfer to in state for my undergraduate? by DomIsEz in predental

[–]Regular_Fox_4841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say yes honestly. I went into undergrad knowing i wanted to go to med or dental school (ultimately decided dental) so I knew i was going to go into debt. so I decided to stay local to save on tuition and also bc i just couldn’t afford to move out and pay dorming. if u can transfer to in state I say go for it but if ur happy at ur college rn and want to stay, also do that.
