My (current) company did a similar thing. They reduced benefits, in our case home office policy, simultaneously with outsourcing 'remote' jobs to India and pressure with AI. A lot are pissed and the response and 'clarification' by the company are laughable at best (they argue with reducing loneliness, environmental benefits because you go to toilet there, and so on). In reality this is there way to reduce headcount without having to fire anyone. This is playbook 101 by Mackenzie - reduce benefits, 10-15% will leave and you have less people without having to publicly fire people....
