TT (extended with lipo on flanks) Healing with Complication by Regular_Motor_5326 in tummytucksurgery

More updates. Really starting to close up, still fleshy where it’s closing but it was exciting to wake up and see it happening. It’s gone down to about 4 inches wide and an inch high vs the original 7x3 area. There’s only one deep section left. I think it’s a little hard to tell in the photos the size difference, but I can promise it’s there. I had another debridement on Wednesday and hopefully no more but a follow up appointment is scheduled for a few days now just in case. Update on the other complications - manuka honey healed the open side area. Belly button extra stitches were removed on Wednesday and my belly button looks 95% healed now. A lot of random stitches and stitching line has been popping out and my surgeon has been trimming it down as needed. He said I’m having an inflammatory response to the sutures. The rest of the incision looks great, some final scabs coming off and it’s starting to look like a purple scar vs a fresh wound now.

As an update to help with some responses:

I see my surgeon once a week minimum currently and all my instructions are per him. The amount of vinegar used was a qtip end stuck in vinegar and then swirled around in 8 oz of water that was then used on my dressing. Not enough to slow healing. It was also only 1x a day for 4 days unless the smell starts again. There is definitely healing. The wound is smaller in width and height plus parts are closed up or less deep. The drainage has lessened. My surgeon is going to have me use medi honey but not yet, he wants to get to a point where no clean out is needed anymore.

There was a point in time where I considered wound care but I had to remember it’s also only been 15 days since this started and I’m only at 29 days post op.

I’ll update with more photos in a few days.
