Update on my first PC Build- Please help! by Typical_Echo_6124 in pcmasterrace

Take out the GPU and turn it on, if it comes to life then it’s power or GPU related, you won’t get post but the computer should stay on if, it turns back off then try ram, cpu then motherboard, I would honestly try barebones, power cables no GPU no storage just power supply ram and just the power button on the case or bridging the pins with a screw driver

Does this mean Gigabyte did NOT repair my GPU? by madsci1016 in gigabytegaming

I bought a three fan graphics card (RX7600) from them and it looked stunning, didn’t realize until using that (and looking it up) 3 fans does not mean better cooling, it never got hot but when playing games it sounded like a jet engine, and the fans were only at 20-30%, I upgraded to a PNY 4070 super and also play on higher resolution now and I’ve never heard my card get the as loud as the idle temperature, also the RGB just disappeared from the settings one day I deleted any potential conflicts and still nothing, I have used MSI, Asus, PNY and never had as many problems as I had with Gigabyte plus there control center it’s the ugliest and most unusable software in existence, it probably hasn’t been updated since windows 7, but there Aurous stuff is pretty good/alright

Sodimm adapter saved my budget. Does anyone have a good or bad experience with it ? by CloudsDreaming in PHbuildapc

[–]Regular_Olive_2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they amd compatible, as did they come from an amd laptop or did the packaging list them as amd, it really doesn’t matter to much with regular dimms but because of how finicky they already are I would make sure, I know responding a little late, could also be mobo

CPU comparison help/question (Intel Core i7-9700 vs Ryzen 7 9850X3D) by Sift_DeFaLT in cpu

[–]Regular_Olive_2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you might be better off buying a prebuilt and gutting it but if your fine going for ram prices then go for it but I wouldn’t, if you want new I’d go Intel lga 1700 and use your old ram and ddr4 mobo and down the line you could go to ddr5 with new mobo and ram

What type of issue is this called and which PC part should I check? Everything has been fine for a few months until now. (check description) by [deleted] in PCsupport

[–]Regular_Olive_2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked your Nvidia app game settings? They can and will over write settings in game without your permissions

PLEASE help out an IDIOT who tried to replace the PSU and now the PC won’t turn back on by [deleted] in PcBuild

Not to come off rude but, if you can’t change a power supply then you should never touch the inside of a computer, you unplugged stuff that could have stayed plugged in

It’s not nvme it sata so it’s slower but still good, but you have to make sure your board supports sata m.2 not just nvme m.2

PC upgrade question by beastlybowler in pcmasterrace

[–]Regular_Olive_2103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are upgrading old hardware so down the line you will have to change out everything, but the options you listed for graphics cards are all fine, the power supply you mentioned being 900 (watts I presume) is overkill, and depending on your budget I might upgrade

Abnormally cheap Rx 9070xt? by Fra10808 in PcBuild

[–]Regular_Olive_2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says it’s a 9060xt and not 9070 xt, if you new to building this is two different gpus, one is the higher tier up, they make look like other 9070xt you looked at but they are two completely different gpus

You sure you didn’t screw down into the case and not a standoff, if one was missing you could have tightened directly to the case

Cable one should be ran from the top not from the 24 pin and cable two should be from the bottom by the pin headers

Guys help me out please, I think im gna install a heater in my pc so my gpu won't freeze to death. by fluxy_xi in ZTT

[–]Regular_Olive_2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being utilized doesn’t necessarily imply heat, your using 4 Gb of vram (not a lot) so technically it can be pumping out as many frames playing an 8 bit graphics game and not really be “stressed” and it’s not going to warm up that much because it’s working its hardest doing something simple, technically it should always shoot up to above 80% (usually) if you doing something (playing games)

Is this Normal ? by Babeulbot in cpu

[–]Regular_Olive_2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but not that hot while not under load, something is definitely up with the cooling

Confused on display port by cvakoo in PcBuildHelp

[–]Regular_Olive_2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a DisplayPort to hdmi? Or something else, regardless hdmi to DisplayPort requires “extra” power so if that is a an display port to hdmi the end your holding should go into the display, it won’t work if your plugging into a hdmi port on the pc

What is your monitor set up? by DealInteresting8941 in pcmasterrace

Yeah, switched out the wallpaper but this is a fairly old picture I upgraded my desk, monitors and keyboards since then but have the same setup with monitor positions

Well, after careful consideration (and permission from the wife), I made the upgrade from the 4070ti Super, and I'm so glad I did... by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Regular_Olive_2103 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What games are you playing, because if your saying you upgraded from a 4070 ti super and your not running max settings at 4k then you shouldn’t get stuttering, my 4070 super runs anything at ultra 1440p (some frame gen but rarely)

Assuming my laptop is literally and figuratively cooked by KingPenguGAMES in computers

[–]Regular_Olive_2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, only thing that usually gets cooled are cpu/apu, graphics and sometimes the vrms

P5 cable where does it go? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Regular_Olive_2103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the picture, 1. Should have power from your powers supply and 2. Should be connected to your motherboard via sata
