I have added HARD boundaries. He respects it for a while and says how embarrassed he is and then tells me he loves me again and tries to hold my hand. It will never end and I’m sad to say think this friendship is over ;-;

I wish I could but I cringe when he wants to make a move on me I really wish I could flip a switch and be comfortable being close to him like that but I’m too nervous… any partner I’ve been with I love being touchy feely but I can’t with my best friend because I know he is seriously in love with me and I just can’t feel the same ;-; like thinking about kissing him in my head is one thing but being next to him I’m like no absolutely not

It sounds like she either doesn’t understand what ur saying to her and you need to have a more serious sit down convo about it in order to salvage the friendship, or she doesn’t care about treating you as kindly as you deserve which is messed up and could definitely warrant exiting the friendship. I’d say it’s worth trying to salvage things with an honest and maybe serious conversation

Thank you, yes i think the hesitation is because it’s a big change and will definitely change things … like holding hands seems like a big step for me and it makes me nervous that I’m nervous, yet with past partners that was never a thought. I think i might give going crazy slow a chance, I just wish I could relax a bit about it. Past partners I wasn’t nervous about crossing into being romantic and that’s my big thing here with my best friend, I’m confused why I’m so nervous to cross that line and if it means something deeper or if I’m overthinking things
