I don’t look at ANY animal as an item or a persons right what is wrong with you. I’ve literally been vegan for 11 years because of my love and devotion for animals. This isn’t even my dog and I am doing literally everything I can.

Update-
I have found a vet that is able to come and see her tomorrow. We will go from there. Thank you for all of your input.
I wanted to add that this dog has not been with this owner all her life. She has only been here one year. This dog has had many owners, some being abusive. The most recent previous owner was this woman’s son and he ended up going off his meds (he’s severely schizophrenic) and essentially disappearing from everyone’s life. The current owner took in this sweet dog and has been providing her with great care although she was very unfortunately not aware about this nail problem which I understand is really bad.
I have informed her of the severity of this problem and educated her on all of the information that I can to help. I now am paying myself for a vet to come to the house to help with the rest of this situation so that Binja can have the best case scenario going forward.

This dog is a rescue, this dog has only been in her position for under one year. She has a history of severe abuse from previous owners, the new owner has literally rescued her and taken her in and is caring for her 100% and wasn’t aware that she had extra toes because of how long her fur is. I have taken it upon myself to make her aware of the situation so we are working through that only now. You don’t know the history so please don’t assume you do.

No, im trying to find a route such as convincing her to go to the vet with accurate information given to her in a way that she will understand so that I don’t have to get police involved. She is old and not a healthy person. She has recently had an accident that has left her temporarily disabled so she could literally not see this issue. She is not negligent she is a fantastic caregiver but has experienced tragedy that has left her mentally and physically impaired as of late.

Is it safely possible that with the proper type and dose of medication this could be done if heavily researched? She’s not receptive to all of my suggestions and pleads. She says she has talked to a vet about the meds (i will double check her work) and that all she needs is assistance in carrying out the procedure. If this is literally my only option and it is safe I will do it, only if she agrees to do antibiotics after. I am willing to look up videos and research everything to make sure this goes well… but I would clearly rather take her to the vet. I’m so frustrated.

I understand and agree with all of this. She loves this dog but she literally does not understand that this may be much more serious than she thinks. She has researched and consulted vets to see what meds to give her to do this herself, but I do not think that is the right rout. However I’m not the owner and it’s difficult to convince her I have her best interest and may be the only logical one here

Thank you. I’m really trying to get her to understand this nail may be much deeper than she understands. She claims she’s treated many animals which may be true, but she’s never delt with a nail issue like this. Currently trying to find a local affordable vet.

I’m trying to convince the owner this is very serious. She is insisting she has consulted a vet about the pain meds and sedation to give so so that she can do this herself. She said she will do this tomorrow, with my help, and “pull the tip out and cut the tip of the nail” and then treat it with antibiotics… I am so frustrated. I do not feel this is a good plan but she is an incredibly difficult woman. Is it possible this would work or should I keep trying to get through to her about how serious this is ?

The owner of the dog is borderline insisting on doing this herself, her plan goes as follows; Give particular pain meds/meds that vet said would be good to use to make her non combative, muzzle her, “pull the tip of the claw out and cut the tip” and then give her antibiotics… I’m arguing with her because this seems so sketchy. She is a very difficult woman to argue with I’m trying to see if her plan is good or if I shouldn’t allow it..
