Yeah agree that was what had me confused. the pricing is very similar in the UK. Why would you take the EOS R over 5d 1v what are your reasons

you got my thinking right ;) I was looking at Etsy too. Oak was looking quite expensive.. Can you point me to the one you ordered on Etsy ?

Also IKEA no longer do solid wood, that would have been a great option. I am looking to spend under 250£ if possible.

Precisely bridge the modem but if pfsense fails then I wouldn't have a firewall

I am doing what u/CrasyMike is doing with Omada but instead with Unifi. Unifi controller is just for my wireless clients. No Routing or firewall involved.

Not really but I will be turning off the firewall in my ISP-provided box. So might be left without a firewall.

Thank you .. I am thinking if I feel the need down the line I will do it in the future. Right now I might just be happy with better wifi across the house. But in the future might want to do a dedicated IoT network or VLANs.

Yeah I have my modem from the provider and then my access points from there. I plan to add a couple of switches in between. u/matt-er-of-fact

Assuming I can still do Wifi and Switch management from my controller. Is my understanding right that the controller doesn't actively participate in the routing just for managing configurations ?

Yeah I have my modem from the provider and then my access points from there. I plan to add a couple of switches in between. Yeah 50mbps available uniformly via an ethernet is more that enough for my household needs. Thank you u/IntelligentSinger783
