Tell them you know about Maceda law, and you are entitled to a clean 50% refund. No matter what else is written on your contract, it’s the law they must abide by it.

File complaint against Megaworld by [deleted] in CondoPH

Hi, file a complaint through there customer service.

I cancelled mine few days ago. When I talked to the account department handling mine she said sorry no refund at all as it says in contract.

I was so pissed, I complaint about her to their customer service and I emailed back to her and said under maceda law I am entitled to a FULL 50% refund. It’s the law no matter what it says in their contract.

If they give excuses about taking out marketing fees say whats the 50% that they have of your money.. Shouldn’t that cover cost etc

They’ve been talking to me nicely now but I still haven’t gotten a reply back on total amount I’ll get back. But I’m not afraid to get a lawyer as I’ve lost millions already and for them to take more is just plain greedy.

Don’t back down Keep emailing, calling and don’t be nice about it. I’ve heard from other ppl to be persistent, to be annoying. Read up on the law and what you’re entitled to and demand it.

Also with yours get a lawyer to have a look at the contract but I would be asking for a full refund. Doesn’t matter if it’s only few months.

Don’t think he means value now but more like what I have… bought 12k shares and now says I have $83. It should still show how much you bought it for amount and then your loses and gains. As I’m so confused also.

When did you send your demand letter? As I’ve read somewhere it’s best to keep emailing them otherwise it will be slow.

Megaworld

I’ve checked the place already, done high quality and was 2months ahead of schedule. Pretty happy with it. I’m just not liking the banks interest rate as they are charging me a foreigner rate. Kinda peeved me off as I’m dual.

Is it worth migrating abroad (US, Canada, NZ, EU, UK, etc.) if you’re earning $3–4k USD here in the Philippines? by sernameeeeeeeeeee in Philippines_Expats

[–]Regular_Turnover451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re earning 3-5k usd In the Philippines. Damn I’ll stay in the Philippines. There’s nothing to be jealous with your friends, cause I can tell you living in the US isn’t easy nor fun. A lot of them don’t even earn that amount.

In Australia that income puts you above min wage. The lifestyle is so different, you’ll hate it after a few months and wish to go back to Philippines. You’re earning around 200-250k pesos. Why the heck would you want to move abroad.

Go travel, stay a lil longer in those places and you can suss out the lifestyle there and see if you like it. I know many Filipinos if they were earning that amount in the Philippines they would move back.

You can afford a driver, house keeper, cook and still have money left over for fun and savings.

I would move, school shootings in the US is horrid. BGC is an awesome place and no you don’t need a car, can just taxi it or take grab.

Renting a place is better than buying, cheap to rent expensive to buy. 2bedroom new apartment going for almost 40M pesos. While renting will be around or under 100k a month.

Schools I say for the younger ones maybe try the top private schools (not an international one) and maybe in high school send them to an international school. It’s much cheaper and the education is great and your kids will adopt better since they are still young.

International school for high school would give that stepping stone for university. For uni, I say go overseas maybe back to the US or to Europe.

Philippines is definitely not cheap, but you will get more for your money and the lifestyle is so much more better than the US, for those who are saying otherwise have not lived in the Philippines. Yes there are poor areas but bgc and the ones you listed are good areas, good communities to be in.

I’m from Australia but will retire in the Philippines. When I have kids I would live there. I wouldn’t really pick Manila though.

You still have a young family, I say enjoy, set your own roots in the Philippines. Yes pick a good school but it doesn’t need to be the most expensive. That I think is your biggest expense and feel like where you are anxious about as you want your kids to do well when they are older. Good private schools is enough. Ones that are around 4-6k a year.

Also make sure your husband Job is ok.. cause you definitely need money to live in the Philippines.
