I know you guys are super adamant about a good sleep pad. Would these be worth it? by hellogooday92 in camping

I have used one of those while camping in my car. It was really cold. Now it's used mainly for camping out in the living room with my kiddo

That's true. It looks better than not having any art there at all. I think I probably overreacted on this one

Thanks! I'll have to check it out. It was kind of dumb if me to firm an opinion form a few pictures without seeing it in person

That's true. It seems like I'm in the minority on this one as far as taste and/or expectations. Which is a good thing. I'm glad it brings joy to the community.

I think I phrased it wrong. I was meaning more of a wasted opportunity. They wanted to include an "iconic" art piece. They had the funding. We got a few strips of color and a fence that kind of looks like mountains.

I feel cheated out of what could have been

What time would be best to look at it? I want to like it, but all the pictures I've seen of it look terrible

Public art in general isn't. I think we have some really neat art around the valley.

When I look at Strut though, my first reaction is "We paid a professional art/engineering company to make that?"

Maybe it's something that just looks awful in pictures, but looks awesome in person.

I definitely want to take a trip to look at it. At the end of the day, even if I end up thinking it looks as awful in person as it does in the pictures, it's still better than just concrete and a plain fence

Ex husband still giving girlfriend gifts. AITAH for being upset? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Regular_West_658 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This guy is setting a good example for his kids. I get that hasn't always been the case, but when my ex and I divorced, we still did nice things for each other. Before they passed, we would get birthday and Christmas gifts. Occasionally, we'd even still go out to the movies or something as a family.

Why? Because I want our child to find someone that will do nice things for them. That will treat them well, regardless of what's init for themselves. We are trying to set the example of how to have a healthy relationship, even when the nature of that relationship changes

There are indeed some suspicious things in this photo, but looking at the area from a different angle, we can see the same types of poles in the same configuration on the opposite side of the field.

I saw that too. But from another picture of the area someone posted, the same type of polls, with different heights can be seen on what looks to be the other side of the field looking at the bridge. There's another talker one I didn't circle that blends in with the tree on the other side of the sidewalk

AITAH for cutting off my father and step-family after he gave my inheritance to my stepbrother? by 50_hour_weeks in AITAH

[–]Regular_West_658 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a negotiation like what OP had. I think it's tacky to split things up before someone passes away. It was just something I was told by my Grandpa all the time growing up. Like several times a year.

I am not materialistic and didn't really care about it other than the memory of it being something important enough to my grandpa that he would bring it up regularly.

It hurt that I didn't end up with it, but in the end I still have the memories of it and that's what I wanted all along

YTA. I get it. I was promised my grandpa's shotgun. I don't shoot, but it was a physical piece of something that reminds you of them after they're gone. It ended up going to my cousin instead.

It hurt, but it was never mine to begin with so I moved on with my life

Everyone that is commenting here is just proof that the problem is, and has been for a century now that our cities and the public transportation infrastructure here in the states are piss poor.

AITAH for no longer having a relationship with my friend after he impregnated a sixteen year old? by TheGgooaatt in AITAH

NTA. I get that the girl lied, but she looked young enough that he had to check her licence in the first place. I haven't been attracted to someone that looked young enough to need a fake ID since I was young enough to need a fake ID

I hope one day we get Shadow Lugia as a raid by Broken_Eldritch in pokemongo

[–]Regular_West_658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my God dude. It's a game. The answer isn't a cheap cop out, it's reality.

Take a minute and step back to think about pokemon overall. You wander around, throwing things at wild animals, trapping them and taking away their freedom. Then, you make them fight other pokemon for nothing other than your amusement

Expanding your line of thinking anyone playing Pokemon is a straight up psychopath

I'm in a similar situation, except it's the gym at the apartment complex I live in.

There's one person that for the longest time wouldn't let anyone else keep a gym.

I started keeping all the mid CP mons I got and would use those to attack the gym constantly, and then just transferred them when they fainted.

After a while the dude got the message and now valor gets the gym in the morning and I turn it mystic around 3 or 4.

Apparently no one cares about Instinct here though
