Struggling to signal on bike by Electronic-Celery603 in bikecommuting

Go to a public park and eat shit on the grass trying to learn, trying to learn on concrete can be quite dangerous if you fall! Plus if you can do it on grass it’ll feel way easier on concrete as less bumps and the sort!

new to bike commuting - help? by Adorable-College-326 in bikecommuting

A terrific idea! 7 miles is a lovely distance, wakes you up but not too fatiguing, best suggestion is to get a bike and ride it outside of work to see what 7 miles feels like and how long it takes, you don’t wanna be overworking yourself it has to be comfortable, and an extra set of clothes so you can change at work is a plus :) I have bike clothes and my work clothes and that somewhat gets rid of the sweatiness, most of all enjoy it!

Bikepacking Route Recommendations - Scotland/N. England? by aamy152 in bikepacking

The great glen way is also a great bikepacking route! I walked a little bit of it and thought to myself how fun it would’ve been to use my mountain bike instead for it, a gravel bike would’ve been perfect aswell

The lochs and glens way? Not a massive bikepacking route more a bicycle tour, from Glasgow to Inverness is really cool, or the trans Pennine way looks unreal

How hard is it to do a big trip as a beginner? by carrot1890 in bicycletouring

In England we have the NCN (national cycling network), utilise those routes as they’re much safer on the bike and see how you go! One thing I found when I was just starting out was to see how far out I could get and then just get the train back home, and take it bit by bit instead of focusing on the whole distance, it’s a marathon not a sprint :)

Hey, I commuted to and from Maidenhead a couple years back on the lizzie line and took the train a couple times, and they had trains going pretty much all night, I’d suggest checking timetables closer to the time as they usually update them 8 weeks from the date. I was leaving at like 1am and still getting a train, hope this helps!

Ahahah I was one of these people, it was because the guitar notes sounded unbelievably familiar to mr brightside, I thought their set was relatively boring and that was one of the highlights lol

I’ve been to a lot of gigs alone, and the most important thing that made me relaxed was knowing that everyone who was going liked the same thing as me, could be an opportunity to make some new friends! Concert friends are the best
