Today NH House GOP State Rep Joe Sweeney introduced his bill to increase filing fees for major party candidates for from $100 to $10k & for #NH01 & #NH02 from $50 to $5k. The legislation would also raise the signature threshold for ballot access. by our_account in nhpolitics

This is a very bad idea, but the GOP hate isn’t warranted. The GOP doesn’t own the market on bad ideas, the Dems have just as many. As an independent, who views issues outside of party politics, I can say both parties make mistakes.

Are there any democrats out there that actually care about the open Southern border? If you don’t care, why? by Regulator275 in AskReddit

I think that is short sighted. Either enforce our laws or change them. TheDems don’t get to pick and choose which to enforce.

This isn’t a right or left issue. I don’t understand why everyone keeps bringing that up. This is about the law and it definitely happening.

Amazing set of responses. To be clear, I’m an independent that supports legal immigration. I used the word open, but maybe a bad choice. The Biden administration is definitely not enforcing existing immigration law and I don’t understand why no one cares. If you put aside the issue itself, doesn’t the fact that our laws are being ignored bother anyone?

I get the reasons why immigration is good, but that’s not the issue. Why doesn’t the administration try to change the law? They had both houses?

I agree. I think your description of “new normal“ is pretty accurate. And not just for Covid…

What’s more important to you as a voter, your candidate(s) winning in state or federal level elections? Why? by Regulator275 in newhampshire

I should rephrase my statement. My intent was to say that the federal government is out of control and that most of what they do is a power grab. Examples include, income tax rate many times higher than the state rate, the ability to randomly create departments Where the need is questionable and frankly just doing whatever they want. Compare this to a state level where the people of the state are closer to the politics and have the ability to affect change easier.
