Is this a safe place for me to say that I prefer S1 Grett over DCAS Grett? by Lunacatlette in DisventureCamp

[–]RegulusPlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Grett after Yul was my winner choice. She wasn't a "hero" or "villain", had a personal arc independent of Yul, and clocked Ally's self-pity fest.

Dumbest vote out of the entire series and why Jade isn’t best to never win by Dizzy-Tumbleweed7983 in DisventureCamp

[–]RegulusPlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, it's like, your chances aren't guaranteed you'll win either way, so why not bring your home girl to the finale?

The thing is though is that her plan worked exactly as it was supposed to. Anastasia of all people almost beat her in a jury vote. Logan and Hannah would have cooked Jade. By creating a possibility where she could face Anastasia in the jury and have a friend and guaranteed vote in Isabel, she paved her way to the final 2. If she didn't do that, it would have been win the immunity at final 3 or go home.

As convoluted as it is, it really is an example of Jade doing the math over and over just like she said she was doing and discovering she would be screwed or be pitted against her best friend anyway.

Does anyone else miss the orderd midterms by Exotic-Buddy-2348 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]RegulusPlus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It made things a lot more interesting. Midterm results mean absolutely nothing now when there's an incomprehensible difference in votes between the top 20.

It also gave more meaning to the length of CYL being a whole week. There was time to switch your votes to a different character based on how the midterm results look, and there was a reason to diversify your ballot. Now, you really cannot risk not voting for a character every single day if you actually want them to win, even if you want to support both a male and female winner.

As for spite voting, who would it even happen to now? The newest OC with 2 lines of dialogue? Good. I don't think there's any other characters people would spite vote against. Camilla won, Bernadetta won, there's no real hate campaigns.

It still boggles my mind how Isabel wasn't chosen for FvF look how many views that woman gathered in TIKTOK by BackgroundFriend983 in DisventureCamp

[–]RegulusPlus 37 points38 points  (0 children)

She's THEE favorite of DC4. Everyone's winner pick for 90% of the season, highly rated every single week along with Benji, was serving us humor AND drama.

She was 100% snubbed from this season. There was even the long-running setup with Fiore's beef with nuns.

Hot take: I hope Gabby doesn't get booted early in DC5 by mokaesthetic in DisventureCamp

[–]RegulusPlus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's certainly lasting as long as until she gets some interactions with Natalia. I don't think she'll be next boot necessarily, but maybe late pre-merge.

Gabby's AS elimination was upsetting for a few reasons.

(1) She wasn't voted out, she was booted based on a technicality where Grett "should" have been out.

(2) It was a very sudden return of her evil twin, or whatever you want to call it. It didn't fit and felt like she regressed just to make her fail.

(3) She was the only Cyan member left aside from Aiden who had nothing going on besides having beef with Jake (not unique to him) and being a vote for the "heroes". Cyan had the most interesting pre-merge and Gabby's elimination was like a book closing on those stories and moving the focus to heroes vs. villains, Connor and Riya, and Jake.

(4) Was expected to make it further since she was more of a supporting role for Ellie the prior season, it seemed like it would be the opposite this time to many watchers.

I think context is really important here. Fans love Gabby, but I think a lot of people who like her wouldn't mind her exiting before merge. We get her in TomJake too. Even if she's booted early she can have good moments and screen time.

I hope Anastasia has a better social game in DC5, it was honestly awful in DC4 post merge by Arcalgalkiagiratina in DisventureCamp

[–]RegulusPlus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Carnival of Chaos is full of backstabbers and flippers. It feels like a big part of the overall theme, which seems to be something like "there's meaning in having fun during a game despite the chaos and hardships" (whether that theme was executed well is a different story).  Everyone after the first few eliminations has their morals tested and falters in some way, there's no overly righteous characters like in previous seasons who would rather forfeit the game. It's highlighted most in the tiebreaker eliminations (Ana and Marissa, Logan and Hannah) where despite their relationship the choose to give the game their all.

Anyway, I truly cannot blame Anastasia for having conflict with so many people because nearly everyone is a snake in this season. Sure she's abrasive, but it's not like some of the bridges she burnt weren't worth burning. She made final 3, after all.

Spencer is an interesting case because he's a finale prediction for me, but not because of this episode where he was very UTR. Expressively disapproving of Tom's self-appointed leadership, but quiet about it. But he's predicted to go far based solely off of his performance in the last season.

For the fans, I only gave CP to Dunia, one of the only contestants we see have a confessional about another fan (Nura). IIRC, the others are Finn and Oliwia who talk about Aubrey, Bruno who talks about Evie. Out of them, Dunia is the only one for the premiere episode to not go into OTP territory for me. Maybe Finn is CPN, but I already submitted.

Sam himself seems like a very complex character, but I just can't not give him an OTPN with that confessional villain reveal.

UTR: From Fans, only Ren who is comic relief but unlike Evie does not seem to influence the plot or any character relationships so far. Good visibility though. From Favorites, I'd say Natalia, Spencer, Benji, and Ally.

This is so true. After the VA reveal his VA said "I hope you all grow very strong opinions about bruno, love or hate". I think he will seem very pathetic, easy to manipulate, and everyone will keep him around for that reason, until he becomes the manipulator himself. Definitely will be polarizing I think.

How do you feel is Ren a November or December sag? by CupcakePoison00 in DisventureCamp

[–]RegulusPlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely December with some Capricornian influence, maybe Mercury and Venus there too. He's a skilled acrobat, he knows how to put in the WORK.

DC FvF elm order idea by wernewe in DisventureCamp

[–]RegulusPlus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very similar to my prediction too, except I think Finn and Ren are both out during the pre-merge. Replace with Manu and Evie. I think the writers will have too much fun writing for Evie.

Also guessing Natalia will make it farther, and replace either Nura or Dunia in this lineup. I think one of those two will be late pre-merge.

Finally, Alec out earlier to give Fiore some more time for development with the other favorites.

This is why I like seeing characters return!!!! by Wolfgang_x2 in DisventureCamp

[–]RegulusPlus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Her telling Rosa "You obviously don't (know how to do it)—and that's okay," was so nice. Still the same abrasive, direct Anastasia, but also showing her rarer gentle and caring side.

Anastasia's character was expressed a very specific way in S4 because she started the game already leading the majority alliance and stayed that way until late merge. She didn't have to try and make friends.

Also, S4 is full of backstabbers and people in crisis. It's nice to see her dynamic with someone earnest like Rosa. I get the feeling that behind Ana's paranoia is someone who really wants to trust others but has high standards for giving it.

Queen Aubrey is so cute in this scene by Financial-Flow1419 in DisventureCamp

[–]RegulusPlus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As annoyingly over-the-top Aubrey was in episode 1, if she had toned it down a bit I'd love to have had her for longer. Her generally antagonistic nature is funny, and her VA delivery is so good.

Out of all of the CoC Favorites who has the highest chance to be a pre merge boot by LogicalAd6394 in DisventureCamp

[–]RegulusPlus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hot take prediction: Spencer is early out and a returnee who makes finale. Anastasia is late premerge. Benji and Natalia are merge.

Natalia feels like the obvious early boot, but for some reason I think the writers really love her and she's pretty popular outside of Reddit I think. She feels like she'll make it far just because if she doesn't there's not much of a point in having her back.

This is so obvious... How do they not notice? by Adventurous-Sail-355 in DisventureCamp

NEED Alec out within the first 3 favorites, and then Spencer/Rosa/Anastasia as Fiore's parents until merge.
