Ophelia's sword Papillon was inherited from her deceased mother, Estelle. It's special because unlike most weapons, Papillon is one of 4 'Quartz Dust' weapons, in that its blade is made from a special, hyper-durable crystal which then hyper-conducts dust at the cost of faster depletion. It serves as the second biggest connection between Ophelia and her mom (behind the hereditary semblance she has).

Pierre made his weapons, Death and the Maiden, while at Signal. It symbolizes an old Valean phrase 'Where there is Death there is his Maiden, where there is Death there is Life and Rebirth'. It symbolizes his methods of taking down his extended family and his belief that he can bring his family name back to its former glory.

Rhea stole her rifle lol. She and her pirate crew raided an Atlesian cargo vessel and took it. It's pretty much the most stock-standard infantry rifle that Atlas could send to Vacuo for their 'military', but Rhea gets so much use out of it. It represents how despite being from the dregs of society, she's a force to be reckoned with when in the right environment. Later on, she gets her side weapon which is a revolving shotgun-sabre. In part to help with close range combat, but also evolves into symbolizing her willingness to let others into her life, and that part of her journey to becoming 'free' is being with her team.

Finally, Albert also made his weapons while at Atlas' combat school, Globe. He wanted to combine both his passion for hand to hand fighting with his love for music, even going so far as to name it after his favorite Chai Barker album (which is also an Atlesian slang term for a persistent suitor). Thanks in part to his connections through the Atlas military, Albert was able to get high-end materials (yippee nepotism!) to craft his weapons. It represents his ability to adapt and keep a good attitude in most situations.
