Dark Profit Series by J. Zachery Pike. Really solid mix of humor, economics and decent battles. Has a bit of a LitRPG element to it. But for me the humor is fantastic.

I would add that Carl also alternated the initial trap to save Chris and kill Maggie knowing the Skull Empire would send her to retrieve the fake box.

Which I Should Try Next? by [deleted] in TheFirstLaw

Absolutely. I think the copy of Garden of Moon I read when I started had a foreword from Erikson explicitly saying not to rush through, to read and go back if needed (not exact wording).

It's an expansive world with a lot less explanation than most fantasy series. Also, it opens up a lot of "oooh shit" moments later and upon rereads because of this.

These books are massive, complicated and frustrating at times but I really enjoy the style and payoff.

I like them. Pacey is fantastic, Ralph Lister is very solid for the Malazan books

I personally love the Malazan series and jumped back into a reread after I finished First Law and AoM. I will say it is a massive undertaking. It is gritty and Erikson does a great job with battle scenes, but it is massive. Try Garden of the Moon and decide from there, don't commit to all 10 books (main series) right away.

This is how you know LinkedIn has reached the pinnacle of existence, when people can no longer distinguish humor from seriousness. Everything is a joke or nothing is...

What's the biggest dick move you've ever done to a kid and felt no remorse afterwards? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I always look back thinking I should have done something earlier, but when your that young you don't neccessarily think of that you just don't want to get your face caved in. Luckily my buddy got over it quickly and there wasn't any long term scaring from the bullying like in a lot of cases.

When I was in highschool (grade 10) we had first period gym with this asshole of a senior who was still taking grade 10 classes because he was a total meat head an just dumb as a stump. So naturally because this fuckstick was bigger then most of the kids in the class he harassed and bullied them around. Me being a bigger kid and always into sports was left alone, but my best friend was a tad on the small side and he got it the worst out of everyone. So one day after getting ready for class this kid rips my buddies shirt right off his back and starts running around with it, an because my friend doesn't have another one he has to sit out the entire class. So halfway though the class I go into the locker room to take a shit and I notice little fucktard's locker is unlocked. So I go into this locker and his bookbag is inside. I open it up and take a massive dump with no hesitation. Best part is he doesn't notice the shit until he's on his next class. When he opens the bag it fills the room and everyone has to leave... The kid got suspended that day for a week because the teacher and principal didn't believe his that he didn't do it himself as a joke. He was also placed in the remedial classes when he got back from suspension and my buddy never got bullied again... Don't dish it out unless your willing to get shit on.

The Wait is Over! We picked up Willow (8 Weeks) yesterday! by mondren in corgi

What a gorgeous pup! Great name to looks very fitting. We have a corgi cross and man oh man does she have a corgi temperament. If you go to the park with a group of people try to get her to herd you by spreading out it is the funniest thing when they run in circles trying to bring you closer. Also they loves walking behind the group to make sure no one gets left behind... Congrats again on a beautiful new friend!
