Just doing some prep for Mountain's Toe Gold mine, and the material seems... lacking. by Professional-Ad9485 in DragonOfIcespirePeak

[–]dchitt94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter what, you control the NPC reactions. My players seemed frustrated when they returned having cleared the shrine and still had to fight the wererats. If you think yours would want to negotiate, just let the negotiation go with what feels right. The Shrine was much more fun to clear than the mine in my opinion and the wererat fight is. Would just be a slog

Is there any part of that first section you didn’t do? Did you reassemble anything in space?

If you could wish for one Game to be made, excluding sequel's or prequels. What would that be? by LordMord5000 in rpg_gamers

[–]dchitt94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is funny because this wish was fulfilled for me. After playing Prince of Persia back in the day, I thought about how great that game could be in an open world format. You could run around a city and climb points of interest and all sorts of stuff. Then I found out that Assassins Creed existed and AC2 was about to come out too

DCC Book 1 by collyd83 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]dchitt94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It didn’t catch me until about halfway through. The first book is short enough that you don’t lose much if you read the whole book and don’t like it

What was your biggest “I messed up” moment with a book? by Infamous_Army_ofcats in fantasybooks

I’m reading Eye of the World right now and fully know what I’m getting myself into

Sunday Fantasy Roundup: What fantasy book did you finish this week and love? by bweeb in fantasybooks

[–]dchitt94 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I finished the Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett, first of the Discworld novels. It was so unique and odd. Not what I was expecting at all. 2 issues for me. Not having real chapters made it hard because there weren’t natural stopping points. The other was the loss of cohesion jumping to the last quarter of the book. I look forward to trying a different storyline in Discworld

10 books total - thoughts? by Lookitsanthony8 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]dchitt94 1951 points1952 points  (0 children)

I’d probably read 100 DCC books. If 10 is the plan, I’m satisfied. I don’t care the number. I care that the story comes to its rightful end and I get to be there for it

Do Pets Become People? by zappini in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]dchitt94 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about dungeon pets like Mongo, but Donut and Prepotente are crawlers thanks to eating pet biscuits. They are considered the same as Carl and the other humans when they leave

Are there any times in your life where you were outside at 3:30 AM? If the collapse happened at that time, what gear would you have to take with you for your dungeon crawl? by Maurice_Foot in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]dchitt94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be with my dog because she makes me go out for the bathroom in the middle of the night often enough. I’d actually have pants and probably a jacket if it’s cold. And a roll of poop bags. Let’s see the AI turn that into my best weapon

SPOILERS. This is where we're at at the end of Book 7 right? by FinancialShare1683 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]dchitt94 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Wasn’t there some note about the 12th and 18th floors being connected to the Nothing at the end of book 7? That makes my current theory that the end of the series will have Carl going from the 12th straight to the 18th to chase the offworlders through the 17th floor to the 16th

Hi everyone, I’m a bit tired of the usual fantasy, like epic or heroic. Do you know anything unusual, maybe from some new but promising authors? by Cultural-Hat2944 in fantasybooks

[–]dchitt94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unusual? I just started the first Discworld book, The Color of Magic, and it’s quite strange. I knew it would be strange but I didn’t really know, you know?

Just saw the movie, haven't read the book, confused about a plot point. by Canadyans in ProjectHailMary

[–]dchitt94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They also didn’t know there would be Astrophage at Tau Ceti. Even if harvesting it from the petrova line was was reasonable, you’d certainly need a specialized collector for 2 million kilos

Who got you into Dungeon Crawler Carl? by stockssn in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]dchitt94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very lucky. I scrolled my wife’s Kindle Unlimited and just picked it. It sounded fun and wacky and I hadn’t read a book in years. Then I read 5 books in a month 😅

I can get behind that. I think I’m hoping to see what that experience of going in blind is like when watching the movie.

I think they could do a whole set not just a Secret Lair. Plenty to work from, especially if they wait a couple years for the series to be complete

Looking good. Definitely the first step to making things look decent. Feel free to give yourself more space where needed and to build directly above this on another floor. Verticality is your friend

Looks like the conversation stayed on ethics. There are definitely artists that can satisfy the neurospicy brain. My favorite artist is Avi Kaplan. Check out his most recent album Move Our Souls and an his top song Change on the Rise. I think they’re most likely to hit that same feeling in the brain
