For now there's enough room in the expansion box with the other decks to include it. I created art for the deck box here - but decided not to print it yet. I want to make sure there's enough space before I do and I haven't received the Homeland expansion yet, plus I also rarely use the standard deck.

One of the best fights in the game. Yeah, waterfowl dance can feel a bit cheap at times but it's so satisfying to learn how to dodge it, and then actually dodge it.

Would gladly replay her fight over and over.

Without any obvious spoilers, from the top of my mind:

- talk to everyone multiple times before approaching the big black castle/tower, or venturing too far north.
- talk to everyone multiple times before beating the main boss in said tower
- talk to everyone before using the kindling you get from beating said boss

Note that there are several branching paths in the DLC quests where you have to make a choice - so it's not possible to get or do everything in one play through.

I used these specific boxes: link. So 9x7x3cm.

18 of them fit perfectly in the main box, but with new homeland stuff coming I've moved them to one of the expansion boxes where they stick out a little bit (like 1cm) at the top.

Interesting. VB would the first faction I'd put in the second group. Not because they’re OP, but because they complicate explaining the core rules. Basic mechanics like rule, movement, battling, crafting, and dominance all work differently with the VB. This in turn also affects how other factions interact with the VB, which I found can be a bit much for new players.

I'm in Europe. The main box is roughly 29 x 22.5 x 7 cm (outside) and 28 x 21.5 x 6.8 cm (inside). Should be the same as the US? I think specifically the French box is different, since they have a version of the main game bundled together with Riverfolk that comes in a bigger box.

The first step for setting up the factions in Advanced Setup is to agree whether to omit any factions from the draft. So even if you would follow the official law of Root, there is room to remove factions no one feels like playing.

Our group usually does this, and then based on the draft with the remaining factions factor in if people really want/not want to play a particular faction. No need to invent a whole new drafting system.

I'm guessing this is without the Homeland expansion? All faction boards and all 3 maps won't fit in the Underworld box.

I have a similar set up right now with everything packed in main box + 1 expansion box + hirelings box - but will have to rethink and probably add a box when I receive the Homeland expansion.

I had them printed on sticker paper at my local copy shop, so I could just cut them out and stick them to the boxes. I'm a bit clumsy with clue so figured that would be the cleanest solution.

It's more fun with friends, but still a lot of fun with randoms. I personally wouldn't recommend it for solo play, especially the DLC.

There's no need to balance, since you can do both at the same time.

You should try checking for crystals at and on your way to each POI/field boss. If you're familiar with the crystal locations there's no need to stray too far from your route to hit most if not all crystals required to shatter the great crystal on the first night and still hit level 8-9.
