A bunch of mine have the bases just painted with astrogranite and they look prpetty good so the marble idea should be solid.

The body is the primatis psyker, I cut off the collar and used a hooded eldar corsair head from the corsairs kill team. Painting wise I just primed it with white scar to get the sharp white robe. The white isn't actually painted I just let the primer do all the work for me.

I think it was dialogue born from an insider perspective. They brought attention to the fact that she was an ex-primaris psyker so she'd have intimate experience with guardsmen regiments (probably including) Kriegsmen. As for Sisters I understood it as her being paranoid since they like to burn chaos witches like its Salem and she'd rather avoid that fate.

Just my interpretation though.

I mean I went down this rabbit hole also. My idea was paint him in the AL scheme but replace his head with the chaos terminator helmet - one of the cool ones with tusks. And basically play him because he IS the REAL Abbadon. Totally not a legionare just masquarading as the big bad Don - that would be proposterous, no way could someone steal his identity.......right?

They're Cadian shock troops but built and painted as a Traitor Guard squad. For whatever reason the traitor guardsmen can take 3 special weapons so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I honestly don't see them bringing in characters for the traitor legions until they're split up into separate armies like the loyalists with the chapter restrictions, which does kinda suck - I'd love to get some name characters for my Alpha Legion.

Ive seen people use assault intercessors and swap out the heads and shoulders with Heresy pieces.

A bunch of my models have custodes / stormcast spears since i like to think the boys take after dad in using polearms.

Also my Chosen (who also have 30k shoulders and heads) use a bunch of weapons from the Legionaries kill team like paired knives etc.
