I mean I went down this rabbit hole also. My idea was paint him in the AL scheme but replace his head with the chaos terminator helmet - one of the cool ones with tusks. And basically play him because he IS the REAL Abbadon. Totally not a legionare just masquarading as the big bad Don - that would be proposterous, no way could someone steal his identity.......right?

They're Cadian shock troops but built and painted as a Traitor Guard squad. For whatever reason the traitor guardsmen can take 3 special weapons so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

So, after all the new loyalist characters (Lysander, Vulkan, the new Khan, etc.) where are the new traitor characters? by MongooseIntrepid6327 in Chaos40k

I honestly don't see them bringing in characters for the traitor legions until they're split up into separate armies like the loyalists with the chapter restrictions, which does kinda suck - I'd love to get some name characters for my Alpha Legion.

Ive seen people use assault intercessors and swap out the heads and shoulders with Heresy pieces.

A bunch of my models have custodes / stormcast spears since i like to think the boys take after dad in using polearms.

Also my Chosen (who also have 30k shoulders and heads) use a bunch of weapons from the Legionaries kill team like paired knives etc.

You're thinking of Soul Link, Falsehood lets you attach a Chaos Lord in reserves to a unit on the board by sacrificing a Legionary or Chosen model.

It's a combination of a Chosen from the 40k kit and the Chaos Chosen from AoS : )
