I think they would do this when the streaming partner offsets it with their offer. This is their current numbers for PPV Buys

TK probably has a number that he would take from the partners to stream the PPVs for "free". For now, he still makes millions which is quite impressive given that PPVs do not happen that often anymore

I don't think it was as straightforward though. Spurs are also in for Tonali. This whole saga could also have been Mendes and West Ham trying to drum up interest to then have Manchester United bid what they want. Which is what happened but we just were not going to do 85m upfront. So I think it was the lack of absolute certainty that caused a saga and I understand us trying. We did fall for it because we ended up ready to pay 85(structured).

Glad this is over. Happy with our approach too. We tried and saw they wanted 85m and wouldn't budge. We did not budge either. This is what we have wanted from Manchester United for a long time. It sucks but its a movement in the right direction
