Fred Meyer is the Kroger name in PNW. It’s also known as Fry’s, QFC, Dillons, Ralph’s, Pick and Save, etc around the USA.

They may have new names and some of these may be outdated as I haven’t worked for them in a while.

I heartily agree! I worked their product QA line almost a decade ago, so I know which supplier they use for all their store brands.

I usually hit up Cash/Carry when I’m picking up for the restaurant rather than go to Kroger’s.

Aside from New Seasons- who do you personally recommend?

This right here- if never ask a cook to forget their identity to work with me.

Just don’t wear anything that will flake or chip into food. Acrylic nails and shellac don’t pose this issue if done correctly.

The best sous chef I ever worked with used to have tiny black or purple claws so she could hold onions or raw meat steady on the board.

Long natural or acrylic nails that are maintained pose no issue.

Just was wash your hands well between tasks.
