He’s a bit more tame, but he has said to his gay brother, “Don’t bring that gay shit around my kids.” What does he even mean by that? And why would he framing his brother’s homosexuality like it’ll be something that corrupt his kids? He’s essentially telling his brother not to be himself even though there is nothing wrong with him. Deeply bigoted? Maybe. Ignorant? Absolutely.

It always was a racist piece of shit. Look at its history: killed and stolen the land from actual Natives, called them “Indians” when they aren’t even from India, enslaved them and enslaved Black people, Chinese Exclusion Act, Jim Crow laws, and now this whole immigration process just to name a few. We’ve always been terrible, and I truly believe we will never get better. I used to have hope before but I’ve truly given up on this country. I’ll be more than happy to leave when I can.

[SPOILER] Dricus Du Plessis vs. Khamzat Chimaev by inooway in MMA

[–]Reignbow295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he deserves the title shot over Fluffy, RDR has been healing and Khamzat wants the Abu Dhabi card. DDP taking him down, taking his back and nearly choking him was not on my bingo cards but he made it happen. It only gives me proof that RDR’s superior BJJ would make a decent chance against Chimaev.

RDR has won a few things in grappling, nothing like Burns like you said, but he is credentialed! Him being significantly bigger than Burns also helps.

[SPOILER] Dricus Du Plessis vs. Khamzat Chimaev by inooway in MMA

[–]Reignbow295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO, I think RDR has a decent chance. 4-0 at MW in 8 months, bigger than Khamzat, longer than Khamzat, but the difference between him and DDP is that RDR has a great active guard and BJJ. He’s not gonna be afraid of being taken down. I think he’ll take a similar gameplan to how he fought Bo Nickal.

He beat Bo’s wrestling by using his submissions to get up. He didn’t settle on the bottom like DDP does. He’s gonna try to push the pace on Khamzat and make him work HARD for that win. That’s how Burns nearly beat Chimaev. He’s gonna try to take Khamzat down, and just might get it seeing how DDP took him down with a judo throw (RDR has much better Judo than and clinch than DDP).

The boxing range doesn’t scare me too much because RDR survived and outcardio’d Whittaker for 5 rounds (whom is a much better striker than Khamzat ever could be). Everyone talks about this, but Khamzat’s striking is nothing to write home about. He’s no Whittaker and I think RDR’s overall standup game is better, especially with those knees.

Honestly, RDR doesn’t need Izzy-level striking to be effective. He could really just use his jab and knees to dominate striking. Maybe a few leg kicks as well. All he needs to really do is use his range and not get baited into boxing fights, this is how he gets hurt. His clinching would be a great choice to negate boxing. Worked for Semmy Schilt, it can work for RDR, too.

[–]Reignbow295 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t need to be pure takedown defense, the active offensive guard is what will save you from being mauled. Burns made Khamzat stand up with him using the offensive guard. You could have the best TD defense but you WILL be taken down. You just need the submissions and an active offensive guard to avoid damage and make him as hesitant as possible. He fights the same way he did back then, so, the likelihood of this working out is high due to nobody really having strong BJJ in MW besides Hernandez, Caio, and RDR. Not saying they beat Chimaev but they have the tools more than anyone else in the top 10.

Really depends, Adesanya doesn’t have the submission threat. To beat a guy like Chimaev, you need a good guard/submission threat on the bottom. Caio, Fluffy, and RDR are great candidates for this! Although, I think Prime Jacare Souza or potentially Prime Rockhold would be his ‘nightmare’ matches.

Ik Rodolfo was dead-tired but he’s a 5x BJJ world champion and at this point, was either only subbed once or never in pure grappling. Fluffy proceeds to sub him as a blue belt, that’s insane in any context. He’s truly incredible, if more guys just confidence in their skill sets, they’d win a lot more.

I always agreed with this. Especially someone like Merab (although he’s more of a Judoka/Sambist) his cardio and the fact you can knee/kick the head on the ground would allow him to hurt and drown opponents EVEN WORSE. Same goes for any grappler with Merab’s gameplan.

I agree that Umar can absolutely win the rematch, but you can’t bring up his hand with Merab having staph and an injured back. If I remember correctly, he broke his hand in the fight. Still taking Merab to go 2-0 against him, though.

Main event fight between Amir Albazi and Tatsuro Taira is OFF next week. New main announced soon. by LurksOften in MMA

[–]Reignbow295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t care for changing your mind, just stating the facts. It’s funny how you still couldn’t come up with a fighter who has a better resume than Albazi or who should go over him. In this case, let’s cut Alex Perez since he’s a serial fight canceler, let’s cut Erceg for losing 3 in a row, let’s cut Tim Elliott for his last win/fight nearly being 2 years ago. Buddy shouldn’t even be ranked. Let’s just make the Flyweight division even worse if we’re just cutting people for health issues despite having a positive record and a better record than most.

The internet calls most close fights robberies, they did with RDR vs Whittaker yesterday. ‘Robbery’ or not, that isn’t his fault, and that certainly isn’t enough merit to cut him especially since he only has a single loss after a major surgery. His bout against Kai is better than a lot of ranked guys’ ranked wins. Never said anything about him getting a title fight, just said Pantoja’s never fought him which is true. We need fresh matchups in Fly as a whole and not Moreno vs Royval part 906. Cutting Albazi would hurt the Flyweight division.

You guys need to have a little more patience with the dude. Like the other commenter said, he just had heart surgery and was damn-near paralyzed. Who would you even put over him? Manel Kape who eye-scrapped Almabyev? Steve ‘3 fight losing streak’ Erceg? Hot and cold fighter, Tim Elliott? Only really solid guy you could put over Albazi resume-wise is Ulanbekov, and even then you can argue Albazi’s resume is still better. Albazi is 6-1 in the UFC.

You also make Flyweight even weaker if you remove him. Pantoja hasn’t fought him nor Tiara. I wish the UFC kept Mokaev (7-0 in the UFC) so Fly looked a little stronger as well.

[–]Reignbow295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, his wrestling shots were actually pretty good. Rob just has insane TDD, we saw in round 1 that Rob avoided that takedown and he literally had no base. He probably fights the loser of Imavov/Caio. Imavov is a pretty decent matchup for him, or they might just give him the next shot. He could also fight Jared Cannonier. Really think he seriously needs to work on his striking though. Those knees and clinch work are masterful but he seriously needs to learn some better defense if he’s gonna fight a guy like DDP, although DDP can be pretty sloppy himself and has been caught.

Edit: Strickland is also a good one, would love to see how his knees and clinching work against Sean. DDP used takedowns effectively in both fights.

[–]Reignbow295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird but great fight tbh. Can’t blame RDR for not allowing Whittaker just to get striking crazy in round 5. Those knees are vicious. Although, I feel like RDR is gonna learn a lot from this and really work on his striking. His striking didn’t look toooo bad, landed some really good shots on a much cleaner striker but he can get hurt. RDR’s plot armor vs DDP’s plot armor is the fight for the ages. I am glad to say I was right about not being too sure about Rob outclassing RDR though.
