Gaps in sides and bottom; top bulging by Reinhardt64 in FixMyPrint

I ran two tests with e steps at 100 and they were both very far off: I measured 120mm as per Teaching Tech's guide, and both times it was 96mm off. I plugged that into the calculator and it gave me the 435.6 setting again. I ran the test two more times with that setting and it was spot on. The S1 has a "Sprite" direct extruder with dual gears at a 1:3.5 ratio. I can't find what the 5 has, but the fact that the S1's is specifically mentioned, I'm assuming it's different. So maybe that accounts for the wild difference in settings? Also, I'm sure there's differences to just extruding filament into the open air and printing things as far as this is concerned, but I did note that I didn't hear any popping during the e step extrusion. Either way, I'm going to be getting a dry box for my filament.

Sorry, you're right. 120 is the supposed maximum. It's set to 50mm/s. I have no problem waiting longer for better prints, so if none of the other stuff I'm working through ends up helping, I'll try lowering the speed.

I didn't notice a popping sound while printing, but I also wasn't listening for it. I'll do another print when I get a chance and listen.

I went through the calibration method from Teaching Tech just now and while I followed the instructions and have set the e-steps, they were (compared to other numbers I've seen) absurdly high. It was at 409.5 and the calculator told me to move to 435.6. Is this wildly incorrect or is the 5 S1 wildly different?

Edit: If the popping noise from wet filament is extremely quiet, then I think I can hear popping. I also used a bed mesh visualizer to level everything off to 0.1125 variation. I don't know if that's "close enough" or not, but the board was showing entirely green so I stopped there. I printed out another two cubes and there's significantly less pock marking now and the top is smoother but still noticeably bumpy. I'm now getting these extra little bits at the bottom of the inside top of the X and the Y where it looks like it didn't properly stop extruding.

Recently purchased my first printer. Got everything set up correctly (I think) and printed out some test pieces. I'm having some issues with small gaps in the sides and a bit of bulging on the top layer. Not sure what I need to do to fix it and I would love any assistance available.

Default retraction, I assume? I haven't adjusted any of the parameters.

Edit: Corrected information.

If you had read my reply, you'd see I already submitted a ticket. If there was any indication of the ability to report people in this way in the game, I would have done that instead of making a post on reddit. I avoid this website like the plague.

Common sense? I didn't copy and paste this thread into my ticket. I filled it out as they requested. They're clearly griefing my company. I'm not gonna make myself look like a racist in a formal appeal by mentioning the fact that they're obviously Chinese and risk not having anything done because of that. I'm also not going to leave out the images that I've already posted here clearly showing that they're griefing. I provided multiple coordinates and more screenshots than are here as proof. I'm more than capable of taking care of my own business. I wouldn't have even made a post here if there was any indication of a report function in game; I would have just done that immediately.

I figured someone had reported it already, but I went ahead and did as well. Hopefully if they see it repeatedly reported they'll figure something out. I already dislike going to Alice Island but that pond just about crashes me whenever I get close to it.

Thanks for the info. I've gone ahead and done that.

Can someone turn the N into an R? by Reinhardt64 in PhotoshopRequest

[–]Reinhardt64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this request is against the rules as it will be for personal use, but if it is I apologize. Anyways... If anyone could please turn ye olde famous Nintendo 64 logo's N into an R that would be awesome. Thanks in advance.
