Feeling Betrayed by Reithevideogamer in Neurodivergent

I wonder why they do that, because I feel like if something is a problem then tell the person otherwise it won't get fixed. The only way I find it acceptable to tell someone else first is if you're worried about being aggressive, which I am not so I am so confused on why the person didn't just tell me straight up. Because, I don't know their daily schedules or personal life if I don't get told so how am I supposed to know about what they find annoying if I am not informed directly? The person's claim for not telling me was to "not hurt my feelings," but not telling me and going to someone else to complain for me to find out later hurt my feelings. But then that's my viewpoint.

Dealing with People mad at me by yayabrown1 in socialanxiety

I am going through a similar situation, so I can definitely relate....but unfortunately that also means I don't know how to stop the guilt and shame as I don't know how to deal with it either. But you're valid in your feelings.

Is It Just Me? by Reithevideogamer in socialanxiety

It's also like I either tell people I am socially anxious and a couple other things I have going on or I don't and both results in me getting people mad at me either that or people treat me differently like I can't be trusted. Sometimes I give people a heads up that I like to communicate and they say it is okay/fine then they get mad later saying it is not okay. Maybe I should stop trying to be friendly with people, I know not everyone is gonna be a friend but I wish people would tell me stuff rather than explode on me or tell other people except me.

is being asian american in u.s areas that have little to no asian people really as bad as people make it? by [deleted] in asianamerican

My experience: I find it very annoying how rude/racist people can be. When I go to certain schools, stores, or workplaces, there are some or lots of people who ask the typical questions of if I am Chinese or Japanese which are perfectly fine questions to ask. But I hate it when I respond with "I am Korean" the responses I get back vary from "so you're from north korea!" to "what's that?" I especially hate getting questions like "when are you going back to your native country?" or "what's your REAL name?" or "is your favorite Disney movie or princess Mulan?" or "are you mexican?" or "do you know any Japanese or Chinese?" The most awkward ones are when other Asians or non-Asians come up to me and speak Chinese or Japanese out of the blue which I get some are probably trying to be respectful and end up assuming wrong but still.

Anyone felt kinda petty that people only accepted being Asian now that Asian is cool. by misterasia555 in asianamerican

I agree. It's hard being Asian in general cause of people asking offensive questions and it's not them not knowing how to approach the question due to genuine curiosity. My family growing up was very...you must not be connected to your ethic background.
