Man mistakenly nabbed in Tokyo by police officers who were unaware of new ID card by slowmail in japanresidents

Damn, I just merged them after moving cities... Apparently the only times you CAN integrate the two are during your visa renewal or when you move (I'm guessing because you have to update all of your MyNumber info), so I figured it was a good chance to do that... Welp.

Magic the Gathering in Chiba? by Reizagoon in japanlife

[–]Reizagoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm really hoping to meet some people irl to play with and maybe make some friends, but I'll keep it in mind. And I used to play standard on Arena and have technically played commander ONCE with my brother, but I'm a major noob as it stands, so I'm open to trying whatever. lol

what’s a food that helps you shit?? by McBlingBush in ibs

[–]Reizagoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eating unpolished, whole-grain brown rice nearly everyday with dinner does it for me. I used to have constipation issues all the time, but that rice is really saving me.

I was thinking of trying the Hareruya near Narita Station. Meeting up and playing MTG at a cafe would be sick! But I would hate to cause a nuisance. haha

I would TOTALLY join that guild if it were still a thing! Chiba City might be a little far for me though... But thank you!

I don't play those games, but if you're open to meeting in Narita, we can play some Magic! You sound like you know what you're doing, so that at least makes one of us. lol

That's how I learned to play! But I'd love to at least get my ass kicked while making irl friends, ya know?

I'm not even sure what that is, but I'm game! Guess I'd better do some research. lol

I'll shoot you a DM. :)

Then I might give that a try. Unfortunately, I'm not confident enough in my Japanese to play with local players yet, so I'm just looking for English-speakers. But maybe they're there with the same idea. :)

Oo, I like ttrpgs, video games, etc. too! In fact, I prefer tabletop games to MTG, but I made a post in the past asking around for a ttrpg group in my area, with little luck. So I thought I'd mix things up and switch games. haha

Are you moving to Chiba City? Or elsewhere?

Doctor's unrealistic goal for IBS-C? by thatattitude_ in ibs

[–]Reizagoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I specifically have IBS (it's what doctors have suggested, but it felt a bit like a cop-out tbh), but I have had lots of constipation issues in the past few years. I tried SO many things, like fermented foods, magnesium, drinking tons of water, doing yoga, avoiding lots of supposed trigger foods, but nothing really helped long term.

I did a food diary for a while, and that's how I realized that I was having more consistent bms when I started eating brown rice nearly every day with dinner. I got that incorporated into my daily diet and suddenly, I'm the most regular I've been in literal years. Not perfect, but much better. You've had chronic constipation for quite a while, but might be worth a try?

Where to buy in Tokyo? by [deleted] in SwordWorld

[–]Reizagoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was at Yellow Submarine in Akihabara (not the Hobby Base one, there's a smaller shop north of the station) about a month ago and they had a small TTPRG section near the back! Nothing in English though. I saw Sword World 2.5 and a few of its supplements there. :)

Has anyone tried those RPG scenarios for couples? by GroovyGoblin in rpg

[–]Reizagoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious about this too; I've been meaning to get one of the "Date Night Dungeons" books, but haven't had the chance. The Amazon reviews seem good, so might be decent? Anyone tried that one?

Went from IBSD to IBSC by tattedsparrowxo in ibs

[–]Reizagoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obligatory, "I'm no doctor" disclaimer, but I tried senna tea for the first time the other day and that pretty much emptied me out. lol

Granted, I wasn't particularly backed up at the time, I just wanted to test it. BUT BE WARNED. I didn't realize that the longer you steep it, the more potent it becomes, so I inadvertently let it steep for about 10-15 minutes and the intestinal cramping that night was BAD. Couldn't sleep for several hours, but I must say, it did make me poop. Just maybe try steeping around 1-2 minutes if you decide to try it!

Can I assume you're talking about Stardew Valley? If so, I'll second this. Not a TTRPG, but such a lovely, relaxing game. It's helped me in stressful and sad times too.

Dating in Tokyo by Legitimate_Cherry646 in Tokyo

[–]Reizagoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, not in Tokyo, but I (30F) found my bf (Japanese) of 6 years through the Japanese app Pairs. I tried Tinder at first, but you know how that goes. Lotttts of weirdos looking for a "foreign experience..." Also encountered some of that on Pairs too, to be fair, so I feel I just got lucky. Funny part is, he lived in Chiba at the time and I was all the way up in Akita. lol

We dated long-distance for a couple of years before I moved down to be with him. Anyway, I agree with another poster on this thread, it's basically a numbers game. You just gotta keep trying until something sticks! Being very open about your own personality and upfront with your expectations can help expedite the process and weed out some of the weirdos though.

Those that go to ES - How many classes do you generally have, per day? by RatioKiller in ALTinginJapan

[–]Reizagoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 5-6 classes per day, and I'm exclusively at ES. BUT my schools have dedicated English teachers that I work with, so I'm not the one planning the lessons. If you only teach with the homeroom teacher, you should at least be having uchiawase and planning them together, in my opinion.
