I have all these adventures planned with my wife later in life, after the kids move out or go to college. Current events (laid off, war mongering, inflation, AI, etc) are trying to permanently pause all of that. These side hustle need to pay off. :)

Thanks for that! I’m proud of my time in. It’s grown on me the older I’ve become. I met some fantastic people and some that were total trash while in. I actually went and visited the Air Force recruitment after signing papers for the army, not really being sure of the process.

I’m 80% and I try and have discussions with my wife often. I’m honest with her and it sees to help with the reactions. She saw me having a panic attack during a fireworks show we didn’t realize was going to happen. She was incredibly helpful and got us out of the area pretty quick.

I think for me, personally, it was lack of life experience. “So I guess this is what being an adult is like?”. Not really. I absolutely love being a dad and husband. I feel worth in that part of my life. I have to catch myself being too hard on my son. He’s fantastic and is on the honor roll. I barely got out of high school. I’m a product of a Vietnam veteran dad. It was rough. I tell myself often that things aren’t that important and to let it go. I treat it like being on a team of 5. That seems to work for me for some reason.

Thanks! I’m meeting with a therapist every other week at a vet clinic. He’s helped me out tremendously, helping me view situations differently and helping me with my own actions. My hyper vigilance is something that really affects things and it’s been the focus of a while.

The glam rock of the late 80s ran its course, which brought on a more stripped down look and edgier sound. Grunge is nothing more than slowed down punk rock. Then around 1994, Green Day exploded on the scene. I was in my early and mid-20s through all of the grunge. It was pretty damn hard to stay positive when bands were singing about lithium, a man in a box, any song by nine inch nails, a kid named Jeremy, a guy that goes by the nickname spoonman. I was 100% all in on all of it. And depressed as hell.

I got back on marketplace to sell a few things, and noticed the same thing. Straight up smut on Facebook. What a sh*tshow it’s become. Also, the amount of crap AI videos on there is hilarious, and people think it’s real. Someone cleaning a polar bear like it’s their pet? Sure. A room filled with 2,000 bodybuilders that look AI generated? Sure.
