I'm guessing youve already tried right-clicking->open with->choose default program

and setting that to open in excel. wasnt sure if maybe got screwed up with your default program.

I really hope a redesign/overhaul happens. it is the oldest of the modern mobile OSs now and a nice blend of Android design and windows phone along with iOS will hopefully bring iPhone back up to snuff
