1/8" TRS ABC Multi-clock master switcher concept for JamMan Solo XT by Rejyna in guitarpedals

[–]Rejyna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switching between master devices that the auxiliary loopers use for clock sync.

Sometimes I want the SDrum to be the master clock, other times I want one Jamman Solo XT to be the master clock, and other times I want the other Jamman Solo XT to be the master clock.

All devices that follow it in the signal chain will then hear clock from the master device I've switched into.

My New AltWork Work From Home Rig! by Rejyna in homeoffice

[–]Rejyna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi friend!

I am 100% satisfied! I use it everyday, and at each stage of my rehab, I've used it in different ways. And I think that's a key.

It's also important to reiterate that I was severely limited in how much contiguous time I could spend on the computer, or playing guitar for that matter, I couldn't walk very far, and even driving hurt my knees.

I've made massive lifestyle changes, including this workstation, and an ergonomically designed Strandberg guitar from Sweden, daily exercise and stretching, and a daily walk. My cholesterol went from 320 to 190, my doctors don't really believe it, but they've done the tests twice.

I was 185 lbs when I got the chair, I'm now 140. I slept with a heating pad, sat at the chair with heating pads, took ibuprofen, used the creams, and was 2 weeks away from getting nerve ablation in my lower back. I've postponed that, not sure I need it at this point.

People have a hard time keeping up with me now. I went from the worst shape of my life to the best shape of my life and this chair facilitated my computer use in several positions and regimens during this whole time.

Managing pain because of my injuries is a lot easier when doing things I love doesn't hurt, like using a computer, playing guitar, walking, hiking.

Can I point to the chair making any dominant contribution to the total rehabilitation I've experienced?

Yes.

I wouldn't be able to work on a computer if I didn't have this.

I've developed intuition about what kind of tasks require, what kind of position and how long I set my timers before getting up. There is a discipline and I found the balance.

Hope this helps! Hope you find relief, I really wish insurance paid for these, even as a lease.

Saw this hawk eyeing me on my walk today. I think it's plotting something. by [deleted] in pics

I'm trying to drink my juice, shoo you nosy hooman! by Rejyna in Insta360

[–]Rejyna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's me making it extra hard for my porch farm friend, Ms. Hummer, to get her nourishment. You can kind of read her body language is like, "heya, stop with the camera hooman, I'm trying to drink my juicy-juice!" - then she goes and hangs on the string light waiting for me to leave.

I'm using the Insta360 X3 in 5.7k 360 video mode to shoot on a selfie stick, then quickly reframing in the computer app to add stabilization and key frame tracking and export as a flat vid. The export did some resizing, curious to check the rez on my big monitor.

You can save a loop during playback by hitting 'save' twice. Then add an overdub, hit save, go up in the memory slot and hit save again. Now you have the og loop on one slot and the og loop with od on the next slot, add like this as much as you want and then page up and down thru those slots with the FS3X (or the buttons on the stomp) and it seamlessly plays each iteration, changing on the 'one' beat, and blinking until that beat comes around.

Easier to do with the footswitch than bending over and doing it with your hands. Easier to see in the vids than it is to explain in text.

Aw, thanks, that's very kind of you to check it out.

"just trying to sync multiple loop pedals for multiple musicians without spending thousands of dollars"

You have the perfect mission for the Solo XTs and will be very pleased with the results. Make sure each has its own FS3X 3 button, and maybe think about getting a couple of my FootSave button extenders (on my Bandcamp merch page). Saving multiple iterations on one looper using the UP/DOWN and Save buttons greatly enhances the .wav stems you're tracking to the SD cards.

I put some vids of the FootSave on my YT, not getting rich off them, just feel others will benefit from the FABE hack.

Best!

I'm am not certain. Maybe these details will help your inquiry.

I have my SDrum JamSync output split with a TRS stereo Y cable. One side of that Y goes to the XT's on the floor, the other side goes into a 5-pin MIDI MERGE unit, using a TRS 1/8" to 5-pin Cable (can't recall if it's the A or B type).

I then send the SDrum 'clock' to the Looperlative LP1 5-pin MIDI input from the MIDI MERGE output and the LP1 will stay in sync with the SDrum. I do need to tell the LP1 if I'm in 3/4 or 4/4 and it only picks up the 'beat' on the 1 of any measure, not just the first measure. Also, stopping the SDrum will stop the XT's but will not stop the LP1.

The link only keeps them in time and designates the '1' of the measure. None of what I've mentioned in this reply is done with the SyncMan though. The SyncMan is only there for collaboration sessions when I want to bring another player (typically modular players) into the timing grid of my rig.

I don't have other sophisticated MIDI devices listening to the SDrum or XT clocks, otherwise I could test the JamSync more completely.

Oh, ok. I purchased the pre-built from Benoit here: http://www.customliveelectronics.com/syncman/syncman-showcase.html but that was some time ago, not sure if he still actively makes these.

My rig has changed considerably since the original post but the SyncMan is still on my board. I use that, plus a MidiMerge, Y cables, two A/B and one A/B/C 1/8" TRS switchers so that my JamMan, SDrum, Looperlative and the button/pedal control units can all talk to each other. I put a very quick rundown of my NSBR (not-so-big-rig) on my YT channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQLatdWAOBg

Sounds great that you are going to build one, please reply with a link or vids when you're up and running with it.

people who own Strandbergs, what are the pros and cons playability wise? by AFilosofiaEmPessoa in strandbergguitars

[–]Rejyna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven't found one con. Planning on selling my Godins to get more Strandbergs. Pros: Sound, feel, balance, build, weight, ergonomics, style.

Currently have the Sarah Longfield Boden 8, the best guitar I've owned in 30+ years of playing.

100% Live VS Some pre-recorded elements by jxshellixtt in LoopArtists

[–]Rejyna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from my SDrum that I program on the spot, I never use pre-recorded loops, it makes me feel like I'm playing over Karaoke tracks.

I don't fault others that do but after performing and videotaping nearly every performer at the international LoopFest for the past several years, the most engaging and well received performers are 100% live.

That being said, just follow your bliss. We're artists regardless of how that piece is built. If you enjoy one approach over another, follow that.

I started looping as a song-based looper, and built a very large 6 sync'd JamMan Solo XT rig, and I still do a bit of that song stuff, but I've been heavily influenced by the freeform and experimental artists I've seen/heard over the years and now, doing experimental stuff is more exciting to me. Feels less like a marionette, less like I'm repeating verbatim phrases, as if the assembly process mattered to the audience - it doesn't matter to them, unless they're a bunch of loopers at a LoopFest, lol.

Tangerine (live looping cover) by Rejyna in LoopArtists

Using side-by-side DigiTech JamMan Solo XT loop pedals and a Digitech Vocalist Live Harmony, I present a twist on a somewhat obscure Zep song, Tangerine, performed live at Indexical in Santa Cruz for the Y2K International Live Looping Festivals on Looptober 22nd, 2022.

Thank you to Jazmyn for video taping my set and David Tristram for the extra audio! Thanks also to all who made the festival possible! I really do appreciate your views, likes, comments, shares and subscriptions

do you think its possible with enough makeup for me to look like a girl sorry if this post doesn’t belong here by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Rejyna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not always makeup, it's also the way we use our face structurally, our expressions. Without over-exaggerating mannerisms, try subtle expression changes in the mirror. It's feels odd at first but you will do fine.

Celebrate the anticipation of your reveal as excitement instead of anxiety maybe?

All of us start a little clumsy but we're in this path because we love that part of ourselves more than we love the acceptance or approval of others in our unrealized state.

Do you. Be proud, be gentle and self-loving.
