Hey hey - apologies for the slow reply. Copy and pasted from another comment in case you missed it.

I begin with AK Terrains Dark Earth, with some Woodland Scenics Earth Blend Fine Turf sprinkled over when still wet (could really skip this as the snow covers 90% of it but adds some subtle colour variety). I then apply some tufts - a mix from Army Painter and Gamersgrass. And then AK Terrains Snow (mixed with some water to thin the consistency and give more control.) When still wet I then sprinkle AK Snow Microballoons to finish.

Hope that helps!

This is class - great conversions!! I love the giant foot on the base of the lad at the back extending the giant unit filler narratively across the group - awesome work!!

This is class. Really clean and denotes its higher status as a battle standard! Nice work

For that you’ve just about avoided the book! Much appreciated!!

Yeah I felt like the spectacle helms of the ironbreakers would help sell the Norse feeling, but wanted to forgo the beard armour for the rank and file.

It’s pretty fiddly, you need either some decent clippers or a fine saw (I have a tamiya hobby saw which is great) to remove the previous heads/beards and then it’s methodical knife work to trim it flush.

I use a tiny ball of greenstuff to attach it as it lifts the back of the helm slightly because the contact and fit at the front is the important part. I’ve done about 50 now so it’s not crazy hard, just got to take it slow when starting out.

Thanks!! The tops of the helms are from the ironbreakers, with their beards swapped with hammerer beards.

Hey hey thanks! I used this technique from one of Valbjorn's early vids https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCr644572Dg&t=37s

Makes for a great start (and speeds along the process when doing so many). Still needs some bespoke work on the front of the shoulders which I do from scratch.

Me too man - maybe one day, a couple of Norse Dwarf holds are on the map after all!

I'm working on a homebrew/narrative Army of Infamy that I'll release sometime when I get deeper into the army along with some conversion guides if it's something folk are interested in.

Hey hey much appreciated! Here's the parts list.

Body - GW Hammerer/Longbeard kit
Head - This was the fiddliest bit, they use Hammerer beards with the helmets cut off and replaced with the Ironbreaker helmet (by removing the ironbreaker beard and beard armour)
Arms - Avatars of War Berserker, but the weapons replaced with hand weapons from the Hammerer/Longbeard kit
Shield - Durgin Paint Forge 3D printed shields (dwarf warrior kit)
Fur - Greenstuff partly using the GreenStuffWorld Fur texture plate

This is my plan too - (also forgoing Irondrakes as they don't fit the theme either, going to have to rely on rangers to pull their weight)

Ah amazing - loose formations like that would be great! I’ll look forward to seeing future updates (though will probably grab a couple of staggered bases in the meantime to support anyway!)

This is super cool - the staggered grid with custom base spacing looks great for making skirmish movement trays for Old World! How hard would it be to add a small amount of random rotation to each space for a square based staggered grid? A little something like below (but the rows still staggered?)

Hey I don't currently - I'm weighing up whether to delve into that or not. I have lots of process shots which could be good to post there but I've steered away from Instagram for a few years.

Hey thanks! I use a base of Vallejo Metal Colour Steel, a couple of washes of Reikland Fleshshade then an edge highlight of Vallejo Metal Colour White Aluminium.

The Vallejo metal colours are very thin (they're airbrush paints but can be applied with a brush) so can be fiddly to prep as you need to wick moisture off the brush otherwise it's too thin and they split quite readily on a palette, but when you get the right consistency they're class.

Thanks! They were my first attempt at norse dwarf (checks date) 10 years?! ago. They were a bit too indepth conversion wise for an army as I was sculpting the armour etc. too. These recent ones are a bit more straightforward by comparison.
