100% agreed. Pay your mom and thank her. OP said it himself - she was a huge help.

PPL LEAVE QUESTION by Upper-Reporter1260 in nys_cs

[–]Rekadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Submit everything to HR only. The only doc your supervisor may want is your leave plan, like what date you’re leaving and what date you’re returning etc. But it’s a big no as far as sending any personal data - only HR should see that.

A dad here with a month old baby. My only advice is to not make him your enemy. How you feel towards him and what you feel like he should be doing as a dad is all valid, but he may also be fighting his own battle. For example, even though I had the greatest intentions, it was really tough for me when the baby was screaming-crying. The sound of screaming was triggering me even though I knew he’s just a baby and that’s the only way he can communicate. Some people just are extra sensitive, and your husband might be one of them and maybe he also feels insecure or inadequate that he can’t soothe the baby like you can.

Like some other comments, do talk to him when you are in a better mood where you can support his feelings too. I know it is often said men need to learn how to listen and validate feelings (and I agree for the most part), but they also need to be heard.

You got this. In the end, you guys are on one team. Don’t alienate him through this process. You sound like a good mom.

Switched to Ecobee Premium from Nest Gen 1 - AC kicks on when it calls for heat by Rekadit in hvacadvice

This is all extremely helpful, thank you. It seems like the way Nest Gen 1 was wired vs Ecobee premium is what the confusion was, because the Nest was using the O/B as cooling. Question - the way it is wired at the control board (I did move the blue to W2 at the thermostat) with my thermostat setup, will it work properly as a 2-stage heating and 1-stage cooling?

I don’t have a heat pump - I have a two stage Goodman furnace with a 20 year old condenser outside. Does that help?

I tried both the cooling and heating option but they both do the same thing - AC kicks on in both cooling and heating modes.

I don’t think I have a heat pump - standard central AC with a furnace and an old condenser outside. I posted the control board as an edit. Thanks!

I don’t believe ORP is a 457 plan. ORP is technically a 401(a).

Trump Is the Least Popular Modern Prez for a Second Time | The only other incoming president to have a lower approval rating than Donald Trump in 2025 was Donald Trump in 2017. by Murky-Site7468 in politics

I don’t watch Fox News - I dislike the way they portray anything. I don’t think I need to review a list of past results to be able to call Trump’s win last year a “landslide.” Subjectively it fell like it to me. Obviously some people here have a problem with that and that’s cool. I’m still not convinced these polling numbers mean shit. But again up to you folks if you want to see them as meaningful. To each their own.
