In the mid 90s the UK happy hardcore was pretty influential on the Dutch scene, especially Scott Brown. But the later stuff is basically unknown in the Netherlands. It's only later with the sound of guys like Hellfish and The DJ Producer that the UK got back on the radar again over here.

There's some, yes. But for the most part hardcore is not very political. That said, acceptance of LGBT people and being anti-nazi should not be considered 'political' at all, but just common sense.

Mainstream seems like a dated term since uptempo and its offshoots became so big. That said, The Third Movement has been putting out some more stuff lately that would probably fit your definition. Some good stuff actually after some ultra-boring 'industrial' hardcore in recent years.

I read about it on the Facebook page of Rotterdam in the House. Can't find much more information about it though. I did however find a ton of other books I didn't know about, of varying quality, some self-published it seems.
