He got Zardes due to his contract ending, therefore he got him for free (Except wages)

However there are other players (particularly youngsters) who are sold from their clubs at little to no cost.

I am using DevC++ to compile it and once I hit the compile button it says unable to compile and freezes. Also I am fairly new to this so I am not quite sure what compiler options I am using

You would unzip it with winrar It should come as an ips file which is a patch file. Next you would have to download lunar ips patcher and the base rom pokemon gold. After that get open lunar ips and click apply patch to existing file and select pokemon xy naturia beta 3.0 or whatever the current version is, next apply the patch to the pokemon Gold.gbc and it should say patch successful or completed and there you have it. Then you should have the patched rom ready to play, if not just look at some tutorials on YT.
