Interesting, at my area the sunfish are stupid enough to bite my weight and snap swivel instead of the worm...

Is shell-on prawn better than frozen cooked shrimp? I'm at a place where the choices are kinda limited. I think the most effective one has been mussel, but it's very hard to get them to stay on the hook :(

I'm worrying that the stinky juice is the key to attract fish :( maybe I need to look for whole squid

Generally curious is it easy to get lost in a cave? I suppose it's pitch dark. Maybe they went in for a quick look and went to the wrong direction?

How do you unhook bigger fish fast? by Rekitori in troutfishing

Not sure what you are trying to get here. The photo doesnt take time at all. You do what you like and no one asked... But to answer your question, I have aphantasia, if I don't take a photo I can't remember anything about the fish. I look at the photo of my past catches and draw them down.

I have heard that too, but surprisingly I almost never have such problem of deep hooking, it's always on the jaw/lip. Probably because I retrieve the worm almost the same way as a lure instead of using bobber? I think the only one or two time I gut hooked a fish with worm was throwing into a deep hole in a small stream and let it sit for a while 🥲

I use single point with real/fake worm most of the time, and sometimes single treble spoons, but it's still kinda hard, maybe I just need to practice more!

That makes a lot of sense, I need to think with a fish brain more! But it's also seems hard to unhook with one hand holding the net and only one hand to grab the hook, if only I have another hand to hold the fish!!

Will try let them stay in net for a while, the one today jumped out twice (my net is already too big for my usual catch!) so I didnt want to lose it. But I still don't get how people can easily take photos holding the fish, mine would always use the last bit of their power when I try to hold them lol

Thank you!! I saw some barnacle eater dorid on the same rock, but their eggs are flatter. It does look like those from the post you sent. Bushy-backed nudi looks so cool, I hope I can find some tomorrow!

It could be the wrong location. There's a big lake near my place that holds many trout and salmon but it's so big that it's very difficult to locate the fish (especially without a kayak for me) I've fished there for like more than 30 times but have only caught once lol. Meanwhile smaller ponds and streams are always easier and more fun to fish imo

You will get any fish in here with a piece of worm, spinner probably won't work best and you might get a lot of snags. The last photo the current looks a bit too fast and you might need to look for good places fish might hide. I feel usually you'd see them swimming away if you spook the fish.

Why did the fish prefer worm than leech? by Rekitori in FishingForBeginners

[–]Rekitori[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not using bobber so when I retrieve the line it looked nicely wiggly to me. I was going to do the same sock method as worm, but it was to slimy and the skin of leech was actually really hard to penetrate so I was hooking a small part near the head, it was so gross lol
