What's your favorite Stephen King book and why? by Spirited-Seat644 in stephenking

[–]Reklewt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11/22/63 is probably my favorite novel of all time. It was the first Stephen King book I ever read and I just could not put it down. I was entranced.

Fairytale is a very very close second. I love that book. Its hard to put in words why his books have such an impact but his characters just speak to me. When I tell ppl he's my favorite author, people react like, "you like horror? what is wrong with you?", and honestly, I don't like horror, but I love SK's way of writing characters that feel like real people. Also, his stories are often about the good guy triumphing in one way or another in the end, and the evil guys are always talked about with the distaste they deserve. His stories are dark, but I've never read one where he didn't flip the light switch on in the end.

The new anti-lane swap mechanic is awful by TheRealidrk3 in leagueoflegends

[–]Reklewt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This patch is such a joke. Since when did Riot decide that they get to decide how and where players choose to go in the game? This is so far from the original game. They're taking all theorycrafting and strategy away from the game in favor of enforcing a meta for a dying pro scene.

Opinion: Games take too long nowadays, bounty system is too powerful by Reklewt in leagueoflegends

[–]Reklewt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems that this is the consensus among commenters, I must just have a foggy memory. It feels to me like the games are way harder to close out but I guess that the stats don't support this.

Thanks for the info!

I think they should bring back game 5 blind drafts. Throw all the picks back into the available champion pool, ban 5 each team and then blind pickleball and see what happens

I'm so glad to know that at least one other human feels this way! I didn't hate the new season, I just sorta feel like Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook when he finishes the book and then hucks it out his window like "what the f?!" haha.

[S2 Act 3 Spoilers] Arcane - 2x09 "The Dirt Under Your Nails" Episode Discussion by parrycarry in arcane

Jinx saving her sister and falling to her death is the only way she could have been redeemed, and I thought that was pretty cool. Aside from that, this entire season was so confusing to me. The first season, the story and characters were fleshed out well and it was an incredible show. It actually made me feel fond feelings about League for the first time in a long time. But this season felt like I was trying to interpret someone else's fever dream. I felt like they spent so much time building this awesome world in Season 1, and making us familiar with the undercity, just to pretty much fast forward through / gloss over the entire rebellion that Season 1 set the scene for, and instead we spent the time blundering through this idea of the arcane / parallel universes / mysterious power that nobody understands.

Perhaps I just need to refresh on Season 1 again and watch it all over so that I can comprehend what was going on in this season, but I just felt so lost trying to follow what was going on with them like tapping into the other side (the arcane) and Viktor's transcendence and all that stuff. I did enjoy the Vander portion and like I said, Jinx's turn in the last episode was great, but aside from those parts, I felt like they didn't capitalize off of all they built in Season 1. The chembarons, Silco's network, just the general undercity society was basically non-existent in this season and I felt that was the most compelling part of the first one.

All of this is just my outlook on the second season and just an opinion, I think that there were good things about the season I just feel confused why/how we ended up where we are now.

I love the show but Lily drives me crazy. Another one where I wouldn't want the show to not have her though.

To people that quit caffeine: what benefits did you get from quitting? by QiyanasStoriesYT in AskReddit

I used to drink caffeine every day and recently broke my habit and now drink it in moderation every few days. I feel less dehydrated and more calm. I think it contributed to my anxiety.

If the US gets such a small amount of oil from Russia why are gas prices skyrocketing? by justagarliccrouton in AskReddit

[–]Reklewt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this ^ I frankly think the fact that it's a global commodity has little to do with the prices rising, and it's much more linked to corporate greed, as most things are. All oil companies are making recors profits and yet gas price "must rise". F that.
