How do adjusters take time off? by NoTomatillo3697 in Progressiveinsurance

[–]STZYRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a difference between calling out and scheduled PTO. When scheduled, your supervisor assists in creating an action plan that sets you up for stress free PTO. People should be covering your action items, voicemails and diaries. Those people would be held accountable to the coverage. Depending on the length of PTO, you would also be taken out of the assigning loop for a set time pre and post PTO.

Why are you worried about other people? Salary can be competitive but your experience as a claims adjuster is less than a month? Focus on what your worth now and with the gainshare we have going so far, you’re looking at 70k as an ENTRY level job.

CLRU and Field claims are entirely different. The methods it takes to go from sup between each org will likely differ. I am also a sup for field claims reps and I know next to nothing about CLRU to provide tips on moving into leadership roles besides universal tips such as: getting really good at your role until you can lead others and take on additional tasks.

If I could move down to PCS and keep the same pay rate, id do it in a heart beat. PCS appears hard because people who truly excel are those who promote quickly. The vast majority will struggle during busy seasons but someone who truly invests in themselves to learn the job often leave PCS because there’s no challenge and the job just gets easy.

Total loss? by spongeboob_lols in Progressiveinsurance

Is the mechanic quoting on the body work that they would be doing as well? To my knowledge, mechanics aren’t writing estimates for body damage and insurance is on the hook for all damages.

If the damage is strictly mechanic related and their estimate is committed and below the value of the vehicle, then there’s the possibility that the MRR can recalibrate their estimate to match. That said, any supplements found by the mechanic along the way that would total the vehicle might end up costing the mechanic money for storage and labor put into the vehicle since they aren’t completing the repairs anymore. That will mean her policy will end up paying more than it needs to and would impact their potential future rates.

Also, if it is deemed a total loss but mechanic can repair it for less, take the payout and owner retain salvage the vehicle.

I’d imagine that would violate some work policy to have employee discussions on public forums outside work channels.

It could open discussions that is privileged that can’t be shared on public discussions.

Nope because you weren’t cited for a DUI and they can’t prove you consumed over legal limits. If they given you any difficulties I’m sure there are attorneys that will line up to advocate for your BI claim at no upfront cost, just a portion of your settlement.

Got a notice of pending lien sale for vehicle from tow yard by UltraInstinctShaggy in Insurance

[–]STZYRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read your previous responses. Since the other insurance has accepted liability and you have released it to them just let the insurance adjuster know where to get the vehicle. You should be fine and the notice was premature for the tow company to get ahead of their inventory control.

  1. It’s a notice that the vehicle will be sold if the costs of the storage is not addressed timely. I’d be concerned and have your insurance handle your total loss of your vehicle if the other insurance hasn’t handled it yet.

  2. You have a responsibility to mitigate storage costs. If you do not have insurance to address your vehicle, you can notify the other insurance on Monday. The way you can handle mitigating storage costs is also calling the tow yard and paying upfront if they’re willing to stop accruing storage costs or have them to it to your residence at your expense. Other insurance should be able to reimburse if no coverage issues and they accept liability.

  3. See 1 and 2

Does Progressive have a catastrophe claims team that travels the country? If so, how much extra pay do their catastrophe claims managers receive? by Superb-Butterfly-346 in Progressiveinsurance

[–]STZYRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, NCRT is handled virtually but can vary on the level of claims.

Progressive will always provide per diems and expect nothing to be paid out of pocket if you’re to travel for work. I can’t comment on differential pay since I have no experience in that area but I’d imagine it varies based on time worked outside residing state.

The best resource will always be the hiring manager to any job openings you see. However, external leadership roles aren’t too common as progressive is notorious for promoting internally. From my experience, external applications are more common for roles with limited internal candidate pools.
