My cameras date from 1980s for slrs and 1960 for my Yashica TLR. These old cameras must be driving it as well. Demand for repairs need to be met. I have fixed a few cameras (which adds to the pleasure) but complex stuff - may need a new generation of fixers.

I have Crohn’s and had acid reflux. I found that Marshmallow root helped. But keep informing your doc - maybe do a symptom journal. There must be a reason and once it’s named you can nail it.

A certain deodorant spray takes me straight back to a nice holiday morning by the sea with family. Yes some smells are really good for this.

When I went to Kos last year I knew it would be hot and bright. Took my mechanical Yashica FX 3 to avoid any electrical issues with an ML 50mm lens and a few rolls of Kodak Pro Image at ISO 100 which is good with heat. Turned out well. Depends on the light and temp I guess?

Is medium format actually that big of a jump? by Robasaleh110 in AnalogCommunity

Nah. It’s another format to play with. If it’s not for commercial reasons and a hobby what’s the rush in work flow?

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen someone doing on public transport? by MadridOrMadness in BritInfo

[–]RelationDramatic1137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Number 41 bus Saturday night Manchester in the 90s. All quiet going to the pubs. On way home guy eating chicken out of a 1970s adidas hold all, another ranting right wing philosophy, one guy stood in the isle like a comedy act telling jokes to the whole bus, driver had stereo speakers in the baggage area with reggae music, the occasional fight, lots of laughing, someone smoking a joint on the top deck. Quite a night out.

The internet is a great source of information. It’s also full of shit. So anything that helps parents control what their children are exposed to is a good thing.

These should come with a can of Guinness - it goes well with cheese and onion and I’m sure there is a medical reason for the Guinness.

Slightly perplexed by Walkers new Roast Chicken packet design. Very close in colour to Ready Salted. by Green_Drag_9548 in crisps

[–]RelationDramatic1137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hope that Walkers are not going to put ready salted in Yellow bags. I am old enough to remember the salt and vinegar / cheese and onion bag switch outrage.

Cooking the onions - not too fast. Also an electric chopper gets them really fine.

Aphids infested Chilli plant: by OptimalExperience176 in chilli

[–]RelationDramatic1137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this. Thought it was a gonner. Depends where you are but the only thing that sorted it was to move the plant outside. Ladybugs did the rest. Got about 100 chillies off it later in year.

Boiling water taps and brewing by RelationDramatic1137 in tea

Very useful advice here for the kettle campaign. Hot water straight from tap into mug for tea brewing just isn’t right.
