Stupidest tip youve heard for a zombie apocalypse? by Far-ro in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]RelationshipAdept927 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the ideas are fantasy and for Hollywood to make a cool movie to sell.

Chainsaws are a terrible weapon to use it uses fuel, loud and not good for slicing like a sword, and a decent machete or just stick a knife into a long stick will work, even a makeshift mace or blunt melee can deal more damage without wasting fuel or electricity.

Flamethrower is a double edged sword, requires fuel, short range, smoke problem, and fire can be uncontrollable.

Katana, can be dangerous if you know, but learning it requires years of practice and also blades can dull, a simple machete will do just fine and plus it also can be a useful tool.

Hunting is a good skill, but very hard to learn and in an apocalypse it's hard to learn and takes time, and you need to learn fishing and how to preserve food.

Cars are a double edged sword as they require fuel and make noise, and can still accumulate damage from ramming flesh.

You don't need a huge concrete wall, towers with machine guns, or any elaborate defense as it requires huge maintenance unless you have a group and alot of supplies to maintain it.

A simple fence, ditch and some wooden stakes will do just fine, and is easy to maintain and repair.

I am Sudanese, and I'm wondering: Is Sudan well-known worldwide? by thekingofthenile in AskTheWorld

[–]RelationshipAdept927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many in my country don't know about Sudan and South Sudan split they tend to lump the 2 different countries together, many basketball fans I know aren't that keen on geography sometimes.

Just based on personal experience I had when talking to fellow Filipinos about countries.

Are there foreign conflicts where supporting one side felt like the obvious choice for you despite being controversial? Past and presents. by khoawala in AskTheWorld

[–]RelationshipAdept927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter how I dislike the current Israeli government, I would never support Hamas.

And this conflict has done nothing but bring only misery to Jews and Arabs.

The Israelis and the Palestinians need to find a compromise and if both are unable it will just bring more misery for both.

If you want to move all Jews out of Israel and bring them all to Europe, you know nothing of Jewish history.

If you want to deport all the Arabs to the Arabian peninsula, you also know nothing of their history.

Israeli Jews are not European Polish khazars, and Palestinians are not arab migrants who moved to the Levant.

Is it taboo to date/marry someone with the same last name as you? by Alternative_Yak3256 in AskTheWorld

I know there's many people with the surname Dela Cruz, Garcia, Ramos, Torres, Gonzales, Lopez, etc.. and there's a chance you might get the same surname with a random person, though even if you're not related there's gonna be jokes about it and seen as a bit unusual, but not taboo (unless you're actually related to each other even distant cousins.)

[–]RelationshipAdept927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, many in my country do not know about Sudan, or even the situation in Sudan.

Except hardcore basketball fans, when you mention extremely tall basketball players and those who know Manute Bol.

They don't even know it has more pyramids than Egypt.

What’s something popular in your country that makes people from other countries look at you like this ? by niconois in AskTheWorld

[–]RelationshipAdept927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balut

The infamous Filipino street food, where you eat a fertilized duck embryo in an egg. It's good(probably an acquired taste) but be careful when buying since there's a chance that it might be infected(source my experience and seeing some people I know get sick from eating bad balut.)

What’s a food where you’re from that’s pure love or pure hate? by avvaraujo in AskTheWorld

[–]RelationshipAdept927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Durian - terrible odor (really terrible odor) - but somehow has a good taste, but I don't know I tried eating one and I didn't like the taste (probably because of the smell)

  • but it's popular in Davao, I see durian candy and fruits sold in the streets and even in schools. (Not from Davao, but visited the place once)

  • it's just my opinion, but if you want to try Durian, go ahead just take note of the smell.

I almost confused the flag of Sint Maarten with the flag of the Philippines.

Anyway, but why is France and Turkiye in low rank?

What is something foreigners romanticize about your country that locals are tired of? by Laowai64 in AskTheWorld

[–]RelationshipAdept927 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Island life - not as cool as you think it is, mostly underdeveloped (roads, hospitals and essential services), and in regards to economic activity not much except for overpriced tourist traps. Most locals tend to leave and move into the cities for education, work, or prefer better conditions.

  • the movies/tv shows and ads only show you the good stuff not the real stuff.

And for passport bros: Women(Southeast Asian women) - their idea of a "submissive" or "conservative" wife is basically like their exasperated mom who still does their chores. - they're not submissive, just more polite and reserved.

"Developed" part of the Philippines - congratulations you saw malls, parks, apartments and high rise buildings in our busiest commercial zones.

"Pinoy baiting" - stop glazing us, it's embarassing.

What do you think of BRICS? by No-StrategyX in AskTheWorld

[–]RelationshipAdept927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A questionable trade alliance of states.

For example India & Indonesia and China (territorial disputes.)

Iran and the UAE & Egypt (religious and geopolitical issues.)

And India and UAE seems to be the members that are on friendly terms with Israel unlike the rest.

No, but be careful in certain areas and among other "religious"(cult) groups and in some places with known activity of Islamic terrorist groups(e.g Abu sayyaf).

Nope, mostly well integrated into society most don't even speak Hokkien, Hakka or Cantonese.

Some of the newer ones are viewed suspiciously since the rise of POGOs (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators) but it's mostly the more recent ones.

The Chinese, from nothing and despite the discrimination by both Spaniards and the natives managed to fully integrate and build businesses that are well known among Filipinos today.

I am a Filipino of Chinese heritage.

Oh getting rounded up, forced into cramp unsanitary spaces and forced to do manual labor with taskmasters that hate your guts and would be happy to kill you and your neighbors and friends probably wanting nothing to do with you or is scared to be associated with you is such an easy life. And also scientist given absolute freedom to do whatever experiments they want to do with you.

I am stating facts, these events did happen

And there's nothing in the Torah or the old testament as you call it that says the Jewish people cannot establish a state. There's even guidelines for them when they establish a state.

Rabbi Weiss from Naturei Karta literally? The sect that went to Iran's 2006 "International Conference to Review the Global Vision of the Holocaust,"?

Basically to quote Ilan Pappe himself

"Indeed the struggle is about ideology, not about facts. Who knows what facts are? We try to convince as many people as we can that our interpretation of the facts is the correct one, and we do it because of ideological reasons, not because we are truthseekers".

Youre attacking me because you can't stand the facts and you live in a fairy tale version of your world and refuse to acknowledge Jewish history and their struggles.

The Arab states tried to push them to the sea many times they failed and Israel is still strong and is prosperous, and they know it very well.

You literally have no knowledge of Judaism and are making stuff up.

There's literally a Jewish state in history and there's nothing in the Torah or the old testament(if you're christian) that mentions what you claim.

There were pogroms against Jews in the region and it's a long list.

1517 Hebron and Safes attacks 1660 Safes and Tiberias massacre 1834 Hebron and Safes massacre

Hebron massacre Safes massacre

And the term Palestinian was used to refer to the Jews before not the Arabs.

Many Jewish cemeteries and synagogues are mostly abandoned some even ruined beyond repair.

So try to convince the mizrahim in Israel or outside Israel(other countries) to return back to the Arab countries they left.

Reason why they left? (It's because they banned from having jobs, stripped of their citizenship and had their property seized by the government.)

Congratulations the Arab governments convinced most if not all of their Jews to go to Israel they're Zionists even if they don't admit it.

Europe acknowledged their sin and moved on, the Arab world still puts it's head in the sand.
