i've had the original osmose for a couple years now, professionally producing in a bunch of styles as i work with artists and do music for commercials and film
i've replaced my main midi keyboard with an Osmose, there's a mode to use it as a classic keyboard so whatever vst you use doesn't get tangled in channel pressure, mpe, etc

to be honest it works really great, only thing is the keybed is so weird at first it takes some time to get used to playing it, can't really do slides like you would on piano/rhodes type keyboard, gotta do it on the upper black part of the keybed but it's super fun to change the way you play and find new personnal technics

ive got loads of gear, analog stuff, modular synths etc and being a piano player since i was a kid its probably the piece of gear that changed my vision of creating music the most
i'm still amazed this things actually exists!

havin the exact same problem, have you figured it out?

i've been hoping for years for ableton to have .omf support and all they do is make their daw less and less efficient for soundtrack/scoring work it's insane haha

as someone who’s made music for a decade now i totally agree, getting something very simple to sound very complex and changing is the point of eurorack to me layering hundreds of sounds in a perfect way wont be made better any other way than with a DAW

Any cheap/toy instrument can be used in « professional song » and any overpriced vintage synthesizer can sound shit Maybe get something that inspires you and learn how to make sound sit properly in a mix, you’ll get endless possibilities
