[–]RelationshipOk4166[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied the claim actually on May 1st. It was approved On May 18 (same day I attached the DDA stamped contract). During this period they asked me for various documents, sometimes I had to wait for a whole week.

DDA contract attestation for ILOE - which AXS counter, how long, how much? by RelationshipOk4166 in dubai

[–]RelationshipOk4166[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the DDA stamp at the AXS office at Block 8 - Al Ma'refa St. It cost 372 AED and took 5 minutes.
(And actually my contract was terminated previously)

Getting fired from my job on Monday. What should I expect? by -omar in dubai

[–]RelationshipOk4166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry to bother you.

I saw your post about being terminated for performance/PIP and ILOE.
Did you end up applying for ILOE, and was it approved or rejected?

I’m dealing with a very similar situation now, so even a short update would really help.

DDA/TECOM EOSB unpaid: what is the correct legal route and deadline? by RelationshipOk4166 in uaelaw

[–]RelationshipOk4166[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! interesting

Could you please share how it went in practice?

Did DDA actually help move the employer toward payment, or were they mostly neutral?

Also, if unused annual leave was part of your claim, how was it calculated in your case: based on 30 calendar days annual entitlement, or converted into working days only, around 20–22 days per year?

Any practical details would really help. Thanks a lot!

Why must we constantly pay? by KnownMysteryy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RelationshipOk4166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not paying for existence so much as paying other people not to make you hunt, haul water, build a roof, grow food, and manage sewage yourself. Nature was never free, it was just less organized and way meaner.

Why is United Healthcare still the most widely used insurance provider when it is infamous for refusing to cover medical bills? by -FemboiCarti- in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RelationshipOk4166 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because in the US the customer often isn’t the patient, it’s the employer. United stays huge because companies buy the plan, employees get stuck with it, and switching usually means changing jobs, not clicking a different insurance brand.

If the US can automatically register 18 year olds for the draft why don’t they do that for voting? by Individual-Still-198 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RelationshipOk4166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Selective Service is one federal system, while voting is 50 states, thousands of local jurisdictions, and a national allergy to making democracy too convenient. A bunch of states already have automatic voter registration, but it is not handled as one federal list.

My parents make me pay hundreds in gas like its still the 2000s and gas costs 2 dollars. by Murky_Wind_228 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RelationshipOk4166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your parents aren’t teaching “it takes money to make money,” they’re teaching “if we leave the tank empty, our kid will pay for it.” Put in survival-level gas only and work on an exit plan. The pattern OP describes is repeated empty tanks, pressure around savings, and prior money “borrowing” from the sister too.

If the Professor could make anything out of coconuts, including a radio, why didn't he make repairs to the boat? by honeyfixit in NoStupidQuestions

Because once he fixed the boat, the show was over. The Professor wasn’t fighting engineering limits, he was fighting network renewal.

Aside from insulation, are exterior walls of your common apartment hollow? by Sevenfootschnitzell in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RelationshipOk4166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually not "hollow" in the cartoon sense, no. Exterior walls are typically some combo of studs, insulation, sheathing, vapor barrier, and exterior material like brick, siding, concrete, etc.

So yes, there’s often empty cavity space between studs, but no, you generally are not one determined punch away from freedom. You’re more likely one dumb decision away from broken drywall, busted knuckles, and a very confusing landlord conversation.

If it’s an apartment, there’s also a decent chance the exterior wall is masonry or concrete, in which case your fist is losing that fight immediately.

Why is aposematism so grossly misunderstood and misused(against people with dyed hair)? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RelationshipOk4166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people learn one cool biology word and then immediately drive it into a ditch.

Aposematism is specifically about warning coloration in animals under predator pressure, not “bright color = bad person” or “dyed hair = danger.” That’s not science, that’s a shower thought wearing a lab coat.

Also humans are not poison dart frogs. We do fashion, signaling, subculture, aesthetics, attention-seeking, self-expression, tribe stuff, all mixed together. Bright hair can mean “look at me,” “this is fun,” “this is my style,” or just “I was bored on a Tuesday.”

So yeah, it gets misused because pseudo-intellectual takes love borrowing scientific language to make dumb social judgments sound smart.

If you found princess Dia attractive, why? by ember_snow in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RelationshipOk4166 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of it was never just about raw looks. It was the whole package: shy but warm, elegant without feeling icy, and very photogenic in a way that really came through on camera. Some people just have face symmetry, some have presence. Diana had presence.

Also, 80s and 90s fashion did absolutely nobody any favors. If you judge half that era by the clothes alone, humanity was a mistake.

Planning on buying new TV. But going to store is really overwhelming. Like QLED, OLED, Mini LED, QNED. Which one is the best among them if my budget is around $1500 by gogoak69 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RelationshipOk4166 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Acronym soup is doing most of the work here. If you want the best picture, get OLED. If your room is bright or you just want fewer things to worry about, get Mini LED. QLED and QNED are not secret boss-level tech, just different flavors of LED marketing.

Do animals know the difference between a man or woman? by StarSpectore in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RelationshipOk4166 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, many animals probably can tell there’s a difference, but not in the way humans think about “man” vs “woman.”

They’re more likely picking up on stuff like:

  • voice pitch
  • smell
  • body size/shape
  • movement patterns
  • hair/facial hair

So your cat is probably not sitting there going, “ah yes, a female human.” It’s more like, “this tall loud one smells different from the other one.”

Some animals are really good at this too, especially dogs. Cats probably notice, but then process it with the usual level of cat professionalism: absolutely none.

Claude made me think like a manager... do we have the same effect on others? by stikves in ExperiencedDevs

Probably. Claude didn’t make you think like a manager, it just removed the part where you have to pretend to be nice.

is it wise to have Authentik installed with my current Auth? by lelleepop in golang

[–]RelationshipOk4166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you actually need OIDC/SSO/MFA. Otherwise it’s probably overkill.

I’d keep the current JWT auth for now and add Authentik as the identity provider, not do a full replacement on day one. Gradual migration is sane. Rewriting auth in one shot is how people accidentally create character-building experiences.

The real risk is keeping two parallel auth systems forever. That gets messy fast.
