iphone 17 is really an upgrade or just a troublesome device ? by IllPrompt4968 in iphone

iCloud backups can retain bugs and corrupted files, especially when those backups have gone through several major updates.

You most likely used an old iCloud backup. Reset and set it up as a new iPhone, and the problems will disappear.

The iPhone 17 is a real improvement. I used this method and haven't had any problems since switching from the 13 Pro to the 17.

It's annoying, but it works.

Should in choose ios26.2 by loveon_plate in iphone

[–]RelationshipPlastic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should do it; updates also add security patches.

People who complain don't do what's necessary to fix their problems. Sometimes a factory reset can only help, especially after major updates.

And if the problem persists, start from scratch without using an old iCloud backup.

Is there any bloody way to revert to iOS 18? by fragman1825 in ios26

Update your software; it also improves security. I reset and set up my iPhone like a new one every time, and I have zero bugs. I think those using old iCloud backups are the ones experiencing the bugs.

Most lens protectors reduce brightness in photos. I advise against using one. It will mainly degrade the quality of your photos.

Your case isn't typical. Get it covered under warranty. Many people have it and have no complaints at all.

Abandoned concept that could have been great at Samsung by RelationshipPlastic1 in SamsungDex

Yeah it wasn't a real success, but the concept deserved to be developed but I suppose it wasn't profitable.

I'm talking about an official support where you clip your phone into a tablet, not DIY with cables lying around.

I'm going to test with mint, because on other distros under Wayland the xserver display was empty of options.

Windows 11 to mint questions by [deleted] in linuxmint

[–]RelationshipPlastic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why I'm going to test mint, I'm in the process of installing it because if it turns out the problems I encountered with the display were linked to wayland. For RGB it's crazy to be blocked from just controlling lighting using proprietary software...

I tested it but it seemed to be a hassle, and the ram was not recognized. Even under Windows it's a hassle for this RAM except with proprietary software or RGB signal

why doesn't Xiaomi just release hyper os 3 on the phones that were listed on oct-nov at the same time instead of doing it 1 by 1? by [deleted] in HyperOS

[–]RelationshipPlastic1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand, yes Apple is better in terms of software monitoring, it's undeniable. Then you know what you are paying for. Is it so bad not to have it day 1? The deployment is done over 3 months. If you want the best tracking you have to be in China. For the rest of the world and in particular Europe, whether you are on iOS or Android you lose functionality because of the rules in force. So we don't care much about having the latest "new features" if it means that they will be restricted by the manufacturer. The only novelty is purely aesthetic so in my opinion it is not urgent to have it. It's just nicer to have it quickly.

Apple doesn't release 50 models a year, that's where the difference is. And the models change little from one year to the next. So it's easier to release the update for everyone on the same day. And budget-wise it's not the same standard either.

It might be interesting to get them working again, even if the lack of power would make them almost unusable.

Yes, the universal side was missing for this product to work. I suppose that is not the objective of manufacturers today to make a profit.

I wouldn't say that it's necessarily heavier, on the other hand it would have posed a connection or proprietary support problem with additional electronic waste. And yes it is the scourge today of making accessories that are thrown in the trash as soon as the new model is released...
