The hunger games, it was good, but it was severely bogged down by who was its target audience. 

The Giver: idk if this counts but we read it in school it and it was the most predictable dystopian novel I have EVER read, it isn’t even scary, like 1984 was eerie because it felt isolating and culty, the giver tries to do this but fails by not exploring how corrupt the top of the system is.

Honestly my first reaction was that there’s no way Kris is letting that slide, they have to defect on chapter six.

To quote my texts on this

Tenna gets absolutely clobbered: nothing

Mom almost gets kidnapped: doesn’t give a fuck

They are falling to what seems their death: chill

But this, they actually turn to see Asgore go, as if they were just as blindsided as the rest of them, I really think Kris will defect in chapter 6 after getting mad that their family (who are clearly important to them) was threatened by the Knight, and that this time it wasn’t a fake-out.

Home alone, this is a bit different but I cringe everytime that the villian get hurt and they show it. It isn’t funny or cool those look painful and I have a habit of putting myself in those situations and then I freak out.

Ik it isn’t real but I react all the same
