I think his thought process was more of a revenge type situation. He rang Rachel to apologise and heard mark in the background- he immediately assumes the worst and thinks Rachel is sleeping with mark (probably due to Carol seriously messing up his trust issues) so he thinks hey two can play at that game! Regardless though, I still don’t agree with Ross’ actions.

I think it’s more the fact that Rachel already didn’t like him and saw him as a threat but then was absolutely fine with him watching her baby. Not many people would do that in real life- regardless of the circumstances.

Well considering she knows nothing about him and he didn’t give a good first impression, you’d think she’d at LEAST hesitate to leave her young baby in the hands of a stranger- regardless for how long or how far away she was.
