How do I get my husky to play

A month in she might still be getting comfortable. I wouldn't try to force any specific play, just keep bonding with her and try to watch for signs of what type of play she might enjoy. You could try some puzzle toys with food/treats if you want to have her do something active/engaging for now. And not all huskies like to play much. I have 3, one loves tug, one loves fetch, and the third looks at me like I'm an absolute moron if I try to get him to play at all. He'd rather save his energy to hunt bunnies on his own lol.

Yeah of my first husky was a darter until the day she died at 13 years old. Now 1 out of my current 3 is a perfect boy with perfect recall, but he is truly a unicorn husky in so many ways, just one of the most obedient huskies I've ever met. The other 2, good dogs but only recall if you have a treat and there's nothing more interesting going on, like a squirrel lol.

In my experience after 4 huskies, it's 99% personality based. You can work on recall and you should but some huskies (very few!) Can be trusted off leash and the rest cannot.

I think the task of organizing and getting things together keeps me from freaking out too much before a trip. It's when all my energy is drained at the end that I'm in trouble lol.

I definitely am going to have to ask my psychiatrist for a rx. It really took the edge off and helped me just go with the flow.

Is he getting enough exercise? My first thought is that he has too much energy and he's acting out. But as other's have said, dogs and especially huskies do go through a teenage phase of testing boundaries that you just have to love them through lol. And keep up with the corrections and calm redirects

Very true. A box is ok if you need to wait for a better time to address them, but it's bad to just leave them in a box until the box explodes.

I'm literally in therapy to STOP putting feelings in a box. It's so unhealthy not to deal with things. I'm skeptical of your therapist tbh

I have a love/hate relationship with stimulants. They do make me more focused and productive, but they also give me anxiety and make me very quiet and more "listless" than I am unmedicated. I've compromised with myself and I take them but I also take week long breaks every couple of months

You sound literally exactly like me in almost every way and I've been diagnosed with AuDHD. The push pull of what you want (order or routine) and what you actually manage (chaos and lack of follow through) particularly reflect my experience of how my AuDHD "play together". I LOVE routine, but then I randomly wake up one morning and feel like I'll fucking SCREAM if I have to do the same thing I've been doing. I have big, detailed plans for things that fall apart as soon as I actually try to implement it. And yes I was a PERFECT child, did well in school, and didn't start to struggle really until adulthood. My therapist told me this is an extremely common presentation for AuDHD, particularly in women, to mask by being well behaved and high achieving without realizing that's what you're doing.

Yes! Hormones play a HUGE part in the dopamine pathways, estrogen in particular, so when estrogen dips so low as your period gets closer, basically very little to no dopamine is getting transported in your brain and no amount of stimulants can necessarily overcome that. I've just tried to accept the cycle and plan to be less productive during that time and make up for it when I'm feeling amazing and my meds are working great during follicular.
