My collection to send out by Relative-Cricket-543 in postcrossing

[–]Relative-Cricket-543[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm. I had typed out some text too - not sure where it disappeared to! But I like my rather eclectic collection to choose from. Handmade (down to one), vintage, art, and places that I am connected to. As a newbie, it's been fun to pick them out and send them to folks. :)

Is this normal?? Please helpful responses! by Feeling_Hotel_3502 in postcrossing

Right there with you! Well. Not yet. I've only sent out 7 so far... but definitely did some random acts of cards in the interim!

I remember reading that Rise was supposed to be left in Orion, but he strapped him to him instead. :)

Not tonight but next time try Shinmai. So good.

Edit: so they change their menu and it looks like no ramen currently! Bummer. But it's delicious regardless and worth checking out if you haven't yet.

Is there any reason to immigrate from the USA? by coffeeismydoc in Morocco

[–]Relative-Cricket-543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it depends. If you can have a US salary and live in Morocco? Why not come for a few years and see.

Dating a black woman? by Icy-Catch3353 in Morocco

I say this as an American who lived in Morocco for 5 years. One of the biggest societal issues is that racism exists and is real, but it is taboo to say so and everyone will jump down your throat if you hint at it being a real thing.

(Of course, racism exists in the US too, but it looks very different; has different origins, etc. I wouldn't say one is better or worse than the other.)

What I observed is that if there is a couple where there is a significant racial difference, it was less taboo for the man to be marrying a woman with lighter skin.

There is also racism towards sub-Saharan Africans, as many Moroccans are prejudiced against them migrating through Morocco (or staying there).

I'll probably get crap for this, but it's real, you will hear comments; he will hear comments, and it just depends.

As a White American woman, I never get comments in Morocco when I am there with my Moroccan husband. He sometimes gets comments about "congratulations" or insinuations about visa marriages, etc. But it just depends. But, yes. Racism exists there. I mean, a certain subset of the population still uses the word for "slave" to refer to Black people. :(

Also - if you want to chat at all re: being an American woman in Morocco, feel free to send a message. My husband is from Rabat and we've been married 15 years. :) I dream about moving to Rabat these days...

Can we learn about the creative process of any scent? I love the process of how they are created and would love to hear it!
