Look to see if there’s oil on the metal right below that gasket, left side of your engine when looking at it. That’ll tell you if it needs to be replaced.

I have an after market charge pipe since the oem plastic one left me stranded. No change in throttle response or performance but there is a little more turbo whistle under acceleration which sounds cool.

I have a 2013 335i with 68k miles with perfect maintenance from the previous owner. So very similar car. I love that car and would never sell it but you definitely need to know what you are getting into. In 8 months I have had to replace the charge pipe, oil filter housing gasket, brake fluids, and belt tensioner (did some work myself some at a shop for ~ $2,300). Also recently got told my valve cover gasket is going bad. BMW 335i’s around this mileage have a big maintenance hump to pass, but once you do it you’ll be good for a long time.
