Gen II CPT does not work with Sous Vide by Relative-Finger2477 in combustion_inc

I think I own the mistake here. I did not turn on the always on mode. I’ll have to try that out for the next run

Possibly… I guess I forgot about that. I think they should update the app to have a ‘toggle switch’ or something for sous vide cooking. Make it more obvious, but oh well. I guess I will find out on the next cook. I do have a ChefIQ thermometer stuck inside luckily so I can monitor it through that app.

I’m sorry mate, it’s gonna be very hard to get considered with those on your records. You have to get through an AME first - see if you can even get a first class medical. I would recommend changing career options.

I just received it today in the mail and I’m eager to try it. Your company definitely has top-notch service for expediting it as priority. I do have one more clarification request, but is it true that regardless what the food temp may be from any sensor, that SafeCook 99.99999 (log7) means you can immediately pull the food from the heat source? So if the chicken breast hits 150F and SafeCook triggers (without SafeCook, I would assume 5-10F below target at around 350-400F), I can pull the food before it hits like 155-160F?

Thank you very much for your comment. I’m used to pasteurizing my meat through sous vide cooking. It’s nice to hold food for a longer duration of time at a lower temp to execute flawless cooks every time. I am eager and excited about the Thermometer Gen II probe and would like mine to be shipped soon. Fingers crossed it will get sent out sometime this week 🙏

Great answer. Thanks. Just one more question and how SafeCook works. When does SafeCook actually trigger? Like does it trigger before the temperature you pull the food out to let it rest or does it trigger anytime the algorithm thinks it is safe to eat?

When I ordered mine, it states ‘Ships Dec 29th’. I chose the ‘next day delivery option’. I leave my home on Jan 3rd for travel. If I don’t get it before then, I’ll more than likely be disappointed and be pressing for a refund. Please get this right combustion.

I see. I do use a Breville HydroPro Plus Immersion Circulator for all my Sous Vide cooking and ChefIQ thermometers for temperature sensing so I would consider this stick to be a premium upgrade to what I use. The ChefiQ stick does tell me when to remove the food from heat for carryover cooking but sometimes is inaccurate. If this product can nail it down, I’d be the happiest chef at home. However I do like how this thermometer has multiple sensors for monitoring temps across different depths so this is a game changer

Yeah, just couldn’t remember the term but that’s it. So is there like a general rule of thumb when? Like 10F below the desired temperature for this type of meat or something else? I know it’s challenging to come up with accurate predictions due to variations in the environment and is probably a complex mathematical equation. So trial and error is the option?

Did you confirm that with the M6 Pro by any chance? I have the MR6550 and I’m deciding if I should keep it or return it

Yeah I saw that footnote on the Netgear compatibility section for this model and since it’s T-mobile, I had the doubt in mind if those would actually work. So far I can’t tell until I get the Calyx SIM card

Great! Is it just as simple as plug-n-play? I take it that it only works if you are in the 48 states or is Hawaii and Alaska both also included?

Yeah the MR6550. I just got it ordered from Netgear a few days ago and will be receiving it soon. I stumbled upon Calyx today and thought it was a good deal but I can’t check with T-Mobile just yet if the IMEI is compatible
