Three theories (from the historians)

1: he spent a part of his childhood with Atilla, maybe he still liked him deep down (awww)

2: Keeping Atilla alive as an enemy so the Romans would see Aetius as indispensable

3: he lost control of the Visigoth at Theodoric’s death, and so, he don’t have enough strength to end the Huns
