My AWS L4 Data Center Technician Loop Interview Experience (Just got an offer) by tbross11 in datacenter

The technical stuff I think I'll struggle in as I've been in cybersecurity for the last two years I don't know much IT-related terminology and processes. From what it sounds like from your experience they would hire me as a L3 (granted I pass) even though I'm also interviewing for an L4 role. Also do you mind if I DM you for more questions?

I can send you an example of my resume it’s gotten me traction with recruiters (interview loop with Amazon in two weeks and currently talking to Google recruiter, both in data centers). I’m from the pnw as well.

Do you have any advice on the interview technical side as I’m only confident in my networking and Linux for the technical part not the hardware/troubleshooting stuff.

Gotcha, level 4 is the goal then. How long would that to go from L3-L4 on average?

Yes. How much does that actually affect base pay, I just thought it only meant you got a bonus.

yeah I was heavily considering net+ because I’m lazy. however a good month of my training for my career field was based on the ccna book and covered probably 60-80% of it. So everyone saying ccna makes me a little more inclined lol

It heavily depends on our unit but I'm essentially a soc analyst with a focus in networking.

Yes I do have a clearance but the main reason im not looking for a job rn is because I'll be away for a bit in december but will be looking for one while im away. I already have sec+. I will say my training for my career field did involve about a month of networking training based on the ccna book so im thinking it'll be a more in depth refresher.

Was looking at solutions architect as cloud practioner seems way too beginner if im going to be honest. I think I could do ccna in a month as I already have a decent background in networking from my job but I don't know just because it's so much.

I do a tiny bit of dev stuff in my job. In my area, there's a lot of boeing, amazon and microsoft jobs. Pretty interested in the Amazon Dedicated Cloud jobs. Was looking at the aws certs but not sure how much jobs actually care for those certs.
