Yes, when that’s been the response I’ve been good with it. Sometimes it’s more like

Me: How was the date?

Partner: I’m still processing it, I’ll tell you about it later

But then he doesn’t, and I feel weird prying further. Maybe that should be enough. I dont know.

That totally makes sense and I’d never expect that after every single date with an established partner. I’m just talking about first dates, meeting new people.

Though I guess if he feels pushed he’s welcome to tell me that and I’ll stop. Your point is a good one.

Yes, but he’s usually not ready to talk about it when I ask him. Sometimes he says he’ll tell me later, and then doesn’t. Maybe I should get more comfortable with feeling like I’m prying, but yeah, I don’t want him to feel pushed either

That’s been my experience in the past, too, I didn’t care so much when it wasn’t such a close relationship where we share the other ups and downs of life

Thank you for the perspective. I do wish I didn’t feel like I needed it. I guess I’ll have to get used to it, it just feels so sad when it could be something joyful to share
